One of Islams greatest heritage sites, the Cemetery of Baqi (Jannatul Baqi) was destroyed at the hands of the Saudi regime in Madina, Saudi Arabia.
The everlasting impact on the Shia extends far beyond just a desecration of a building - it is the systematic oppression of Shias in the region.

In my country Morocco we honor Ahl al Bayt and we have been governed by Ahl Bayt since the year 788 when Moroccan tribes chose Idris Ibn Abdallah Al Kamil Ibn Al Hassan Al Mouthanna Ibn Hassan Assibt Ibn Imam Ali as Amir. We have a beautiful Mausolee on the tomb of Imam Idris that we respect and honor. What wahabis did to the Baqi is awful. I once went there with a book containing a map that I actually bought in a Saudi shop. Nevertheless I was harassed by the authorities of the Baqi that wanted to check if the book was from Shia in which case they would have to confiscate it. Shia and Sunnis lived in peace for centuries before that wahabis started this hatred. May God reunite the hearts of the Muslims and protect them from those who seek division.

So true and sad 👍. Sura Al kahf has the lesson , that the authorities of that time suggested to build a masjid over Ashab e Kahf . So why not a masjid on Jannatul Baqee ?

Saud are the traitors and the biggest mushrikeen . They betrayed and sold the whole Ummah , and saved their throne like Firaons. Yamnees are the real care takers of Hijaz . Saudis sold Falasteen to the Zionists and saved their throne.

It shouldn't be Shia / Sunni, these are Historical sites , a practical proof of early Muslims, who also happen to be closely related to Prophet,...Saudis did the decimation on Purpose to avoid community loyalty to such places, nobody is praying to the grave,but to offer respect n Fateh. It was a power politics of Wahabi doctrine....Scholars doing research on early Muslims find it bizarre to note that such over the top decimation has taken Place.Oil Wealth needed a strict doctrine to keep people under control,entrench the power n please the West with cheap oil supplies. Mecca's Cultural hubs,libraries,art n literature were also destroyed to create austerity.,stripped of bustles that make a city vibrant,warm,welcoming place. New Wealth n the mammoth constructions in Saudi still give cold feel.....Shining marbles of concrete jungles ooze a beauracratic set up far removed from its People n as such the visitors.....Touch me not sense.
