I tested both Crit and Mastery, and Mastery does give more Chaos Bolt damage overall ^^ I think its just cause Mastery stacks a LOT more efficiently than crit does =]

I'm guessing this was made back when Cob stacked Mastery. Not sure what Mastery does for locks, but I'm assuming it's alone the liens of increasing shadow damage, that's probably how he hits these crits, along with Dark soul.

It would be more efficient to get Mastery then Crit, Crit doesn't go up and with the spell Dark Soul: Instability it's not really necessary to get more crit then needed. even though the chaos bolt goes with more crit to hit higher, the mastery therefore increase the damage done by the burning ember spell, so the higher your mastery is the more he will hit with chaos bolt as well. It's a bit of an chain between the crit and mastery, but im sure they will go crit at an certain amount of mastery.
