Destruction Warlock Dungeon Guide - WOTLK Classic - W/ Timestamps

Here is the Destruction Dungeon guide! I've taken a different approach with my guides than I did in TBC. I really hope you guys like it, and let me know what I can do to make it better if I can, for the next ones!
Anyway, at this point I’ve done countless Heroics both on Private Servers and now on Blizzards Live server and I think it's time for a proper Dungeon guide. This guide will work for dungeon Cleaving, normals and Heroics, just use the timestamps to skip to wherever you want to go. If for some reason the spec, class or dungeons change, I'll make an updated one.

For the weakaura I would suggest adding a glow or something to the Immolate timer to show when you can cast it without clipping. The cast time on your Immolate will be changing with all the haste procs. If you just cast it again when the timer is somewhere between 2 and 1 seconds left then you'll probably clip it and clipping is really bad. Have a weakaura that calculates the current cast time of Immolate based on your current haste and adjust based on that

You wanna link it? Because IDK how to make WA's like that. But also you can just not clip it. Extend out more. I think a WA glowing for that would be hard since the Haste values will change constantly. Unless it like auto updates the WA? IDK, but yeah sounds dope if you have.

Dude you saved my life, I was so embarrassed by my lagging performance in dungeons in demo spec, now I'm doing so much burst dps, normal mobs die in seconds 😁

If you were doing bad damage as demo you were playing it wrong... Destro is good, way undervalued as a spec, demo is good tho as well.

@@xe2014 yeah I made this comment during TBC and before lvl70 so I didn't even have seed of corruption, Affliction is the way to go now apparently for levelling and demo for aoe in dungeons

You should get 3 points in improved imp. Firebolt does a lot of damage (especially as you take glyph of imp, demonic power and empowered imp)

When do you properly use spell and firestones? I just hit 62 and from what I was reading on them in the description it didn't seem like they were any better than having a wand. Also what would you suggest as a spec the level 60 to 80? Thank you

The stones are used like weapon oil. You don't equip them.

great work buddy. i think you missed immolate glyph on lvl 80. its not only 10% immolate dmg, it also pushes conflag dmg cause conflag scales with immolate dmg. immolate glyph is more dmg gain than incinerate or chaosbolt glyph.

I've been testing out using Soul fire for Backdraft procs and it seems to do more dmg, obviously you're limited by shards and if you can get the cast off but overall its doing more. Thoughts?

@@audiofun1 From what i can tell, getting an empowered Imp proc while backdraft is active is doing more damage that just spamming incinerate bc of the auto crit.

I go sf, cb, sf or if cb is on cd then I use 3 sf. It's pretty fun just shard mobs and then own them on the boss in the dungeons. Very fun way to play!

I personally find destruction to be so AMAZING for a long time for consistent burst damage. I played Destro and refused to do affliction or demonology. I did affliction sometimes for specific fights only. Otherwise, Destro!!

Destro is great in raids, but imo, demonology gameplay is much more fun. When you turn into a demon and have those nice abilities, a charge and an immolate aura, DAYUM SON, that is badass! It like having a transformation from DBZ. I love popping my meta during tough mob fights or at bosses and burning them down with that nice 20% dmg buff. Its only 2m cd so you can use it quite often, once every 3 fights. Immolation is your most powerful AOE and also he does great on single target with fire spells with that MC proc. Its also great for survival when doing daily quests and people attack you in open world. Had a rogue attack me, i put my dots on him, he used cloak, then i turned into a demon and put on my immo aura and burned him out of stealth, then we fought in melee until his face melted from all my fire damage and dots. Then i /roar at him. Gotta have a macro with the /roar emote if you play demo. XD But yeah, destro is better for raid bosses because i has more consistent dmg. Still any warlok should try demo at least once, for the fun of turning into a freakin demon! :)

I play Destro and do decent damage in TBC. Lot of ppl in guild are saying affliction is going to be the needed spec in WOTLK. Are Destro being neutered here? What's the opinion, can we still play destro and do acceptable raid damage? We already have two affliction locks why make another. I play shadow but everything I'm finding online is saying fire destro. Don't mind changing to fire as long as it burns down bosses.

@@CrixGuides Checked out the raid logs. Nice damage. I'm seeing so much about destro doing poorly and people don't want us in their raids going into Wrath. I want to prove them wrong :) Also do know if Icy will have a Wrath Destro guide soon. I like their talent trees and rotations. Your shadowbolt pumper talent did amazing increases.

Yes, but also created another issue. We can't reapply Corruption if its lower Spell Power than the one thats on the target. Hopefully they fix it.

Alot of the times people have trinkets or set bonuses that empower you for a short amount of time therefore when you apply a dot with these buffs up then it’s more powerful and when the proc falls off your next dot won’t be as strong

​@@alexdillon3152 I'm stoned, i'll try to explain it: Corruption doesn't snapshot Spell Power, however it does snapshot Crit and % Dmg increases like Death's Embrace, Curse of Elements, Tricks of the Trade, etc and there will be times when you need to apply a NEW Corruption to re snap it and you won't be able to because the Corr is lower Spell Power. Example: If you prepot a Potion of Wild Magic, then do your opener and put your Corruption up, that Corr will have the 200SP & Crit from the potion. Then at 35% HP, you need to reapply a Corruption because of Deaths Embrace but since the corruption is lower Spell Power than that one you put up when you had Wild Magic up, you won't be able apply this Corruption at 35%. Pretty much just means at anytime you need to apply a corruption to snap the Crit or % dmg, you need to let your Corr fall off or Seed once then Corr back, etc

it's huge. instead of immo conflag immo then rotation it's immo conflag rotation. That extra cast time over a length of time really stacks up especially as you're getting zero immo ticks per conflag without the glyph.

A couple of things. Desto isnt a burst spec, its bursty but its consistent damage. It has no cds or exacutes. Secondly. Glyph of immolate is much better than glyph of imp. 10% more damage on immolate that directly converts into 10% conflag damage as well. Third, please for the love of god make your explanation of rotation make sense. The spec is a joke when it comes to difficulty. Its as simple as this, excluding curses (Maintain Immolate, conflag on cd, Chaos bolt on cd, Fill with incinerates) You dont need to make it so word jumbled. When you are teaching someone who is 100% new to something, you NEED to reduce the amount of words used to properly convey information they can effectively comprehend. Things like your Port shouldnt be in the portion labeled "rotation".

Destro has a strong start, but in the end it will be a scuffed fire mage with close to no support. Demo on the other hand has the best sp buff in the game and will also outgun destro more and more the deeper you go into the expansion.

Same here. Went Affliction on the advice of an officer in guild. Lost two thirds of my damage. Went back to destro and get top damage during raids.
