I've watched dozens of reviews on the T2, specifically so I can see how well it works with a tablet. Your review is the first one that didn't just say "and you can flip the phone mount over to attach a tablet" and then say or show nothing else. Thank you so much for doing such a complete review of this product. Oh, and while it was immediately obvious to me that the tripod mount was for when using a phone to record, it seems it wasn't obvious to others. Yours is also the first review to correctly state this. Others either didn't mention it at all or said they didn't think they were of use because it wouldn't support the camera hanging off the back. One guy even tried using the T2s mount with a huge DSLR hanging off the back then used that as a con about the product. So kudos to you for understanding the product inside and out. This is probably the best product review I've seen on KZbin.

Very timely! One thing I was just thinking about during a zoom meeting on Friday: how can I rig up my iPad as a teleprompter to project the call participants up so that I'd be looking into their eyes through the lens instead of looking down at the screen. This product might take care of that! Great review, Dave!

I have experienced that to mirror-flip slides with PPT Mirror tool for iPad etc, and display them in TTL (through the lens) in a teleprompter is also a good option to assist in delivering professional narration and definitive guide to keep eye contact with my audience in zoom because l always have the whole concept in front of camera and I don't have to read word for word.

I modified my Glide Gear tele. And it works now. But big and bulky, yes. So, I will only use it in Studio. I need a Tele I can use on the run OUTDOORs and the Desview "may be the tip." Getting one soon.

Great review, Dave! I just received my Desview T2 the other day. I also came from the Padcaster Parrot V2 teleprompter. Although I like the Parrot, it's simply too small for my aging/Asian eyes! Dang, we even have the same last name, haha! I'm really glad you mentioned the various cons of the Glide Gear, because I was struggling with trying to decide between the Glide Gear or the Desview T2. But I read too many spotty reviews on the Glide Gear, such as the hood and the screws holding the unit together. Plus I'm using the teleprompter for my Canon Vixia G60 4K camcorder which I was concerned would not fit either the Glide Gear TMP-500 model nor the TMP-100 model. With the Desview T2 being at least 2x larger than the Parrot, that means I can now use my larger Samsung Note 10+ smartphone with larger text or even use my Samsung 8" tablet, which is even better for showing larger text. That also means I...wait for it...DON'T need to put on my reading glasses if I choose to! Wow! So far I only did a couple short test clips and downloaded to my computer and it was perfect, no reflection from the text or any ghosting. Actually, I don't even see any ghosting on the Desview T2 screen when the text is scrolling...or maybe my eyes just aren't sharp enough to see it, haha! I do have a question for you. Is there any device that you can recommend that would hold up the Desview T2 using the 3x 1/4" threads mounted on a leg of a tripod for extra support? I'm thinking of using a Smallrig "magic arm" type of device along with a bracket that can hold up the teleprompter better...just in case. Actually, I'm not really too worried because the Desview T2 seem to be able to hold up my Samsung 8" tablet just fine right off the camera lens of my Canon G60 camcorder. But I thought it might be a good idea. Also, I don't really care for the BestView teleprompter app which appears to be very crude and short on customization. So I'm preferring to use the Padcaster Parrot app instead, plus use the Parrot remote control, but using the Desview T2 teleprompter with the Parrot remote and app. Maybe over time I might get used to using the BestView app and BestView remote control though. Lastly, is that "hack" of placing a FeelWorld field monitor on the bracket something you got from Caleb from DSLR Shooters' channel? He has a video about that same concept. Anyway 2 thumbs up for your review. I'm glad I got the Desview T2 instead of the Glide Gear...thanks for your reinforcement on that point!

Thanks for the kind words Casey and glad you're finding it useful! If you're looking for a good mount, Smallrig is great, but consider mounting a nato rail to the bottom of the teleprompter - you can use 2 screws to mount a slim smallrig nato rail to the bottom, preventing it from twisting off. And I saw Caleb's video, but have been doing that for years (like I said, I'm vain 😁) Cheers and happy telepromting!

@@dqstudios Hi Dave, thanks for the suggestion! I'll have to check it out! I'm still liking my Desview T2 teleprompter! My latest new toy is the Canon XF400 camcorder which I like for its top handle and dual XLR channel inputs. But I still have my Canon G60 camcorder as backup.

Do you have a video of how to use and where to download the best software that can be used with the remote control?
@dqstudios3 жыл бұрын
A search in the app store for Desview teleprompter should reveal it. It doesn't have any documentation, but just try it out (it's free) and you should get the gist of it quickly.

Simply use PPT Mirror tool to convert Your Powerpoint slides into teleprompter software and the tool works with remote, any device on every browser and all versions of MS office.

Great review David 👍. I was wondering how wide could you go with the T2 before you see the sides of the teleprompter frame. I bought recently the T1 and at 24mm on a Canon 70d, i can see the sides of the teleprompter. I'm trying to get to atleast 15mm without seeing the sides. Would the T2 work? Thanks in advance mate.

We are mounting this promotor to the lens, then, going to put extra weight of phone device; and this whole assembly is without any support, so entire weight will be on camera body and lens connector. Will this cause any damage to the dslr camera lens connector or body? What you think? This is the only concern which has kept me away from buying it so far.

Because it’s plastic it’s very light. And the maximum ipad size is also a iPad mini, so there is not much weight on the end of the lens.

Hey totally neat presentation. U help me nail that purchase decision. Was debating in the glide gear. But this is way compacter. Though u say there is a con on the beam splitter I guess at this price range one can increase the font size. I have my fathers iPad mini and that clinched it for me. I have an app called tele prompter. Was wondering if this remote will control it. Currently I control it with WiFi and is voice active guided

@dqstudios3 жыл бұрын
I use this one but I also use it for focus pulling: amzn.to/3b0WPED But you could definitely use a less expensive 7" monitor if you're in a darker room and don't need the extra brightness. I would recommend picking up a 12V power source so you don't need to worry about batteries dying on you during your meeting. Happy zooming!

If I use the Imaging Edge as a field monitor with my a6400 I lose the face detection. Why is it that when I then turn the app off, the camera doesn't turn face detection back on? Is there any way of framing my shot with another monitor (teleprompter blocks the flip up screen) and then get the face detection back on without having to go to the camera and fiddle with the menus? Many thanks.

Everyone complaining about the lack of the "tool less design" on the phone holder, but if you think about it, there is a really easy solution. Just get some thumb screws in there with the thread you need and you're done.
