I have no idea how this video has been viewed so many times and "Liked" so few. Maybe people watching multiple times, but I am so grateful for this bud. Easy to follow and my Ring Doorbell works like a dream

Very helpful! The Ring website should have a link to this video. I’ve ordered what advised and hoping to fit this week 💪🏼 Thank you for such a great video

Hello, I have watched your installation video for the ring wired. All really good and easy to follow. I am going to put on order the transformer I need. Thanks. However, when I originally put up the doorbell I didn’t have brown wires poking out the the old door bell… just blue and white. How do I resolve this?

Amazing video :Amazing video. Do you reckon I can make the same wiring possible for another video door bell which is non-Ring (like the Eufy door bell dual wired, that I got from the US? Thanks

I opted for the 24VDC transformer as the ring box looks a lot smarter, thinner profile and pretty much the same size as the old Deta box
@Bigdogchay3 жыл бұрын
Cant it work with the old deta box? I just got this doorbell and connected it up to the existing doorbell and it powers on, it just wont connect to the network, any ideas?
@AhcMeUk3 жыл бұрын
No the Deta is the wrong voltage. Deta is 220-240v 50hz DC and you need AC so a different transformer is needed.

@@AhcMeUk man ive been going out of my mind since monday, it powers on but it wont connect to the network it goes through all the setup to that bit then nothing, just tried again and now its stuck in a boot loop, flashes twice then clicks sounds like its taking a picture, might just bin it and get a wireless one

I tried a regulated 12v dc supply with this bell first and had the same symptoms (powered up but would not connect the the app) The app stated it was a power supply problem. Tried a 12v a.c. supply (actually, I used the same d.c. supply, but connected to the transformer, effectively by-passing the rectifier) and the bell connected to the app first time. So in other words the bell seems to need an a.c. supply to connect. I have since found out this bell WILL work with a d.c. supply, but it needs to be 24v, not 12v.

I bought this transformer to fit my wired ring doorbell and it was fine for the first day. Now there’s an audible humming coming from it, is that normal?
@airportdocumentaries2 жыл бұрын
All transformers make some noise, if it's too loud for you, then get a transformer that's from a well known brand, or buy the official ring transformer which is £20
@samwatson1312 жыл бұрын
Would this also make the chime work inside off new transmitter, as well as powering the ring off the mains? Our ring chime doesn't work through the deta doorbell at the moment.
@kaj6613 жыл бұрын
Am I being daft... can't you just stick the transformer in the old casing?

I'm confused. I thought the point was I could wire up the ring doorbell to the existing doorbell wires and the ring would make the delta chime ring. No needing to pull chimes off walls or fit transformers etc..

I have an old multi voltage transformer with Earth, 4v and 8v to get 12v you wire the 4v & 8v together giving you the 12v. If your transformer works the same way you'd be putting 36v through your Ring doorbell.
