Should be in with a good chance of winning with this innovative design. Re the finish, surely tin cans are more sustainable than throw away plastic containers? Unless they’re plant based plastic of course.

Agree, metal should prove more eco friendly if recycled.
@timsway3 жыл бұрын
I don't think the paint cans get "recycled" when you recycle the paint but don't quote me. These guys did the research and came up with the solution. I know it also involves shipping weight and costs, storage, etc. etc.
@JBergmansson3 жыл бұрын
@@timsway Yeah, it totally depends on the way it is thrown away, but the empty can if treated as scrap-metal, shold just go back to being remelted, and not end up in landfill or a garbage oven.

@@JBergmansson Almost everything should be treated like recyclable, because almost everything is. But of course, the Reduce and Reuse Rs are the most important of the 3. These bags reduce, but do not reuse.
@JBergmansson3 жыл бұрын
@@timsway Yeah, they are probably right in their choice to use plastic containers. Reducing is important. But I sometimes get a bit scared of plastic. Many plastics are not currently recyclable in a way that is practical, (some are not recyclable at all) meaning that even when disposed of correctly by the consumer, the items end up in landfill. Many types of plastic should probably be completely phased out. Much in the same way as we phased out flourocarbons in the 90's. Microplastics in the ocean is already a big problem.

Everything looks and sounds great, Tim. I hope your auction is a success. :) Just a little friendly advice for future builds.
