The seller on Amazon has clearly got alot of orders on the back of this video and your link to the brush is now at £23.97 as of 18/01/2023 which for me makes this a compelte no go.

If you want an alternative I quite like vikan brushes. I use the one that looks a bit like a dustpan brush (smidge longer than the one in the video) and that works brill, not sure on the price but it's less than a tenner

I thumbs up this video when I read the headline. The DF brush is awesome and feels good in your hand and I have the Tuff Shine brush, which I like as well, but the DF brush is the best value in my opinion. Always enjoy this channel.👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks for the video Jon. The rubber edging on my brush wore out after ~2 months from grazing the pavement while cleaning the bottom of tires, and the bristles seem to be slightly too soft for tires. I do enjoy the handle ergonomics, and agree that the soft bristles make the scrubbing process feel much more pleasing. Would like them to find a middle ground between the Tuff Shine bristles and these bristles

You've got to intentionally avoid scraping pavement, otherwise this will happen. It'd be nice if they could use a more harder weaning rubber, but I suppose regardless pavement will always graze through it. If your has worn off evenly, you could always use some rubber edge trim and stick it on the end.

I know it’s a bit of a ‘faf’, but having an A4 acetate sheet or a strip of the A4 sheet which you place next the tyre should stop the bristles coming into contact with pavement/road.

I really like your channel. Appreciate the time and effort. Keep it coming. I'm not a detailer but I want to clean and protect my vehicles. I'm trying to learn how to clean the easiest and most effective way. The cost of products matter to me but I will pay more if it accomplishes my goal because I won't be using up the products like a business would. The most important to me is the pleasure in using a product compared to others. I also need to know the tools to go along with it.

The Vikan long handled brush has slightly stiffer brushes and it’s my preferred tyre brush, the short handled Vikan has softer brushes so perfect for cleaning diamond cut alloys.

Got one in November and car went 7 weeks without a wash due to weather and work. Either been using a nail brush carefully on my battered wheels or a detail brush on decent cars. Teamed the DF brush with AG Rebound (also 1st use) and must say was mighty impressed considering the tyres have been through floods and a week or so of gritting 👍🏼

Had mine for about 8 or 9 months, still like new...and trust me it gets a life. I like using BH Surfex HD at 10:1 and a few puffs of Gyeon tyre cleaner. Perfect results, and yes, does feel great in the hand, and on the tyre. The rubber around the edges is still holding up perfectly.

Just used BH Touchless and wow! My car was so clean after using it. I think it works better than auto foam. A thin layer of traffic film was still left on the paint after Touchless, so a contact wash is still required before waxing. But without making contact with the paint, it did a brilliant job!

Bought touchless, auto wheels and korrosol this week, got to say for a first time user with BH I'm very impressed, the touchless is amazing actually got away without a contact wash this week, using pir at 0.04, will reduce this down to 0.02 next wash. Can't afford the tyre brush this month......Jon, your costing me a small fortune 😂😂😂

@@paul23c609 I’m also a first time user with BH products. I think Touchless works better than auto foam, but I will the again in summer, as apparently Touchless works better in winter than autofoam and autofoam works better summer than Touchless. With Touchless, there’s still a thin layer of traffic film left at 4% pir, but it’s still impressive.

Looks a good brush Jon but not for me personally purely due to price. The Tuf shine brush for me does a great job at a good price without the bells & whistles. Ps. Use less pressure with it & it glides over the tyre far smoother. I've been using my two for years & neither have any bristles out of shape like yours 🤣 The Vikan brush is great for cleaning tyre coatings with just shampoo, doesn't damage the dressing but removes the grime 👍

Vikan as you showed, I've had since I started 3 years ago, still good as new. I'm like Reg tho, I feel I've gotta really go at it becuase the bristles are quite soft due to the flex and length of them more than anything, so it's easy to slip off the tyre (not donked anything yet though!). If the bristles were 3/4" shorter there would be less flex when in use and likely remove that "need to scrub" as the bristles would feel like they are doing the work rather than me having to. The vikan is quite wide headed so getting round the bottom of the tyre i find I donk the floor/gravel so not sure how long that rubber edge would last. Looks promising but still doesn't quite tick my boxes.

Cheers Jon, good informative video. I have the £3.50 one from In2Detailing and it does a job, but I don't enjoy using it, this looks way better to me. Re the price, yes, it looks expensive but it's subjective. If it will last years, I don't see the problem, if it's better, but I do understand other people's point of view. Whilst clean and shiny are out of stock, I'm sure they'll be back soon and are at the price you referred to.

I got an Oxo tyre brush from Motor Geek a few years back. Seems no body is importing/selling them now, not available. It’s great, totally different style it’s a curved shape to the wheel and the handle is directly above the brush so it’s easy to control and get good pressure. This DF brush looks very good quality and agree, don’t mind paying the premium price.

Thanks for your thoughts and test. I use the long-handled Vikan brush to get into the wheel arches but the bristles are a touch too long to pass through the gap beyond the tyres and arch without scraping. The bristles on this new contender seem just the right length so I may be investing in one soon.

Never really like the tuff shine style brush for low profile tyres found it aggressive especially on delicate wheels. Found the Vikan style to big. This one seems like a good happy medium. They have put a lot of thought in to it like the fact it has a rubberised body/handle. Thought it was a bit of gimmick when I have seen it listed online. Nice to have seen in action & your thoughts on it.

I like the size of that new brush but feel the bristles needs to be stiff like tge black one from in2detailing becuase when your using the new DF brush the bristles are flexing and going onto the alloy where the in2detailing one stays in place pluse the tough bristles give u more bite when cleaning rubber...I'm still tempted to get one anyway as that ruber handle and edges is a big plus for me

At time of writing these are £23+ on Amazon and sold out at Clean & Shiny. For the task at hand, I think it’s a bit too much even at £13, especially given it’s a one trick pony and there are other options that are half the price or more. I currently use a long handled scrub brush which is just easier to use and doubles up for wheel arches and under bumpers. I do like the rubber edges which could be very useful if you have a small gap between tyres and arches so it’ll go on my list and someone else can buy it for my birthday.

Not wanting to rock the boat as I enjoy your content and have bought a lot of stuff on your recommendations. Myself and a lot of your viewers are not professional detailers plus I know you like looking for a bargain, £13 for a tyre brush is a bit steep and I was wondering your take on the similar designed Amazon Basics Wheel brush for under £10, or alternatively to do the full wheel, JPYH Car Wheel Cleaning Brush Kit for the same price as the detail factory one. Again, no malice intended, really appreciate the effort you make in producing and posting.

To me the £5-10 is ideal secret santa, novelty gift price range and unless someone has a be all and and all product thats what I'll tend to buy, readily available cheap to buy, cheap to replace! Unless its damaging of course

I disagree with your marketing logic. A superior product would increase total revenue through increased sales, not increased profit margin. Better products sell more, making the company more money. If I knew a company deliberately charged more than others simply to increase their profit margin- because they felt entitled, then they can suck on it and I would not buy the product, simply on principle. great video, and good product. I will pass.
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing Жыл бұрын
but you also forget that they have about 3-6 months after releasing the brush before it gets copied and they loose all their sales. So is the venture of making these product really profitable long term? i dont know, price is alway a very personal thing, we all have our sort of thresholds and when we feel its too expensive we might not buy, so it has to be a viable price.
