I haven't found footage of recording test quality in dvd or other function test, just game test!

I used it for recording my Laserdisc movies and it was perfect for that since many DVR don't have the choice of recording at high bitrate 60 fps with Linear PCM audio in SD of course. Being in Mpeg 2 meant files were huge but it was the closest thing to Laserdisc quality it was a perfect match those Digital Audio PCM Laserdiscs. Too bad the disc drive now is pretty much dead so I can't do much DVRing with it.

@@barebarekun161 60 fps?? i heard the psx drive failing on a lot of people why it happens? i have a few hdd from the 2000s and they all still work

@@namesurname4666 Poor cooling and ventilation literally cooked the disc drive inside out leading to accelerated wear coupled that with increased power consumption (48w vs 85w) it's no wonder it sucks so much as a PS2. Hard drive have yet to fail on me though these are hardwired to each PSX console so it's a nightmare when it's time to replace one. At least drive size were huge for 2003 it was 250 GB HDD but you need working disc drive to birn any files to disc asince it doesn't support HDD transfer so my system is halfway point to being a pretty doorstop currently.

@@barebarekun161 does it really record in 60fps? most movies are 24, it would be a waste, i have a dvd recorder which uses ac3 for audio, the video is standard pal 576i25 you find on most players and has EQ,LQ,SQ,HQ (6 hours on dvd-*1hour), the internal hdd is a maxthor 80gb which i also found in an old pc so a common standard ide drive, it uses a strange filesystem but i've been able to recover a lot deleted footage with testdisk, also ffmpeg was able to do it but ended up using handbrake which had deinterlacing and queue, i've got all converted to modern x265 which is 1/3 of the original size if you keep the same quality (Not bitrate)

@@namesurname4666 Yes it can I think it was called HQ+ mode or something like that. That 60 fps recording is useful for sports program I think and for whatever reason this mode is the only one that records Linear PCM audio many Digital audio Laserdisc used Linear PCM so that's why I used this mode.
