Doofer911 Doofer lol, please make more videos like this. Do you have videos like this for the other, or pmdg range of aircraft? Those would be great. greetings from an Aberdonian in Michigan! :) loving your vids and Scottish accent which I miss living in the USA. edit: 911 sticks out too, have you seen Ex CIA Agent/Asset Susan Lindauer? I just saw her speech "to truthers" yesterday.

Captain over intercom: "As you can see the engine on the left side of the plane is on fire, now we have turned the alarm on, hopefully the fire will get scared, but no promises, this is all we can do until we hit the ground at a high speed, thank you"
@Doofer911

Technically any normal landing is hitting the ground at high speed, if the pilot's are in control then everyone will be fine ;)

Ah ok, thanks for confirming. As I said, I couldn't see any noticable light in the sim and the "Systems" documentation which comes with the plane doesn't cover that specific light switch.

@@Doofer911 in my country, we call this 'WING LT' __wing and Engine flood light. There is one light each side on the fuselage. The RH side is just above the FWD cargo door. YOU can see it in captain Joe's video__Airbus A320 outside check. This 'WING LT' can light up the area in front of each wing(slat) and engine. So we call it wing and engine flood light

I've just enroled for an A320 Rating programme at a local Class D Sim institution, they sent me a rather confusing CPaT for me to start getting familiarized with the airplane's systems and controls. Thanks for the info. I don't really like flying a computer so i used this knowledge of the cockpit to learn to fly it manually. I use flaps 3 on take off, turn off the auto thrust whenever it clicks on ( when you go to full throttle the AT kicks in automatically). I also switch off the flight director. Then it flies like a regular Boeing.

yes, and it's only for crew. FWD for forward cabin attendant, and AFT for the AFT cabin attendant. When captain push the P/B SW, a little screen nearby the related attendant seat will show where the call from. I remember it seem like 'captain' or 'captain call'. And on the cabin top panel, there are several indicator light also turn on in blue shows there is a crew call. When passenger push the attendant call, the screen can also shows the calling position like '34L' or '50R' LH side or RH side

If you set the Range Knob on the EFIS panel to let's say 40, then in the ARC mode it's 40 nm to the front (as you told) and when in NAV mode it's also 40, since you have 20nm to the front + 20nm to the back of your position (or the plane icon). Just a little thing I noticed, other than that superb videos through and through! Keep going.

In this RMP panel we can set 'data mode', you can see the active side show the word 'data'. this is for data transport from ground to the plane through ACARS system. When we set frequency to active side, we can also use this for HF and VHF communication

5:20: The CVR on RCDR panel, when activated, records the last two hours of communications and aural warnings from the cockpit. Pushing the GND CTL pushbutton manually powers the CVR on the ground. The CVR ERASE and CVR TEST buttons are inhibited unless GND CTL is ON, the aircraft is on the ground and the parking brake is set. Pushing the CVR ERASE button for two seconds erases the CVR recording. Pushing the CVR TEST button sounds a tone through the loudspeakers if the CVR is serviceable.

I might actually have the guts to open up FSX and have a mess around. There's so much to take in with the A320.

Hello Doofer911 I know the video was up 1 year ago, but I think the CVR test and erase do what they say, the CVR Test emits a sound which is recorded to test it and then the pilot erases the test and the rest of the old data. This is performed in each flight. Good video btw.

Yeah you are right. This tutorial series was my first crack at a commercial aircraft so I've definitely learned a lot since then :)

Wow, that Addon is a tremendous step forward compared to the FSX default Airbus A321! :D I will certainly use your video series for my Aerosoft A320 «Type Rating»! :P If you could do the same for the Aerosoft CRJ 700/900, I‘d be very, very happy! :)
