Tip… cut some of the braid so you don’t have to take down the whole braid. It will make the process faster

My goal is definitely healthy long hair. This is my 4th time big chopping. I did it back in May of 2022 and I’m almost a year in. My length is very awkward at the moment because the back of my hair is a lot longer than the front and even in the front the left side is shorter than the right buttttt it’s growing and I’m happy!

So glad you’re back 🎉 your wash combo is a really good one. I constant repurchase the Briogeo mask and I got a sample of the Ouai shampoo and enjoyed it. I’m going to pick up a travel size for when I take down my braids too. And I hope your next protective style is short goddess braids (or whichever ones you said) because that sounds beautiful 💗

I just love your energy! 😊 I'm also on a growth journey after some mishaps and an unexpected chop 🙈 Been doing twists of all kinds (passion, marley mostly). The passion twists can be done with an invisible root and the takedown is a breeeeeze! Also, I use this preshampoo that's very slimy by African Pride (only product I actually like by them!) And that really helps with the build up at the roots. Will be following along with you on your growth journey! 😊

Passion twists don't require rubber bands if the person knows how to install them properly. I had passion twists...they were plaited into my roots then twisted. It was lightweight and way less time taking out then braids. So it's definitely finding someone who knows how to do them without the rubber bands. The rubber band method to me is done by folks who don't know how to actually install them correctly.

What do you call these type of braids? I've never had a protective style because of my sensitive scalp but also the time it will take to take them out.
