Helpful tip for everyone. Run water only for about 5 minutes at a fast idle or until the thermostat opens, then run the flush. This way you will reach the entire cooling system. Great video!

So it depends on how long your boat will sit between outings really. I frequently boat so I use it about every couple months. If you are going to run in salt water and then let it sit for a month do it every time. But if you run it frequently, at least once a week then doing in every couple months. The one great thing is you can do it as often as you would like so if you want to then do it every-time or every other time. It wont hurt to run it every time.

Big mistake. Salt Away instructions say do not run until water reservoir is clear. It says turn all supply off when the suds start flowing from the engine. This way the Salt Away will coat the inside of the engine for better breaking up of salt deposits and future protection.

Big mistake. This is not salt away, this is salt off. Here are the instructions from the manufacturer for you knowledge: Flush & Protect 1. Attach Salt Off Applicator to a garden hose and the other end to a flushing unit designed for your engine type. 2. Turn black knob clockwise to ON. 3. Turn blue knob to WATER ONLY. 4. Start engine. Run until normal operating temperature is reached. 5. Turn blue knob to MIXTURE. Solution should be flowing. 6. Allow to run until solution is used and dispenser cup is clear.
