In this video, we take a detailed look at the "long bar" version of MT fixtures. I compare this version to the more common style of MT and show you the differences of the buttons from both the front and back sides. As for wiring, this video shows you how to wire the buttons, but if you need more help, check out my website: www.stlelevato...

Thank you so much for showing us a detailed view of the older Schindler MT button. I’ve always wondered what those type actually do.

That "long bar" MT microswitch looks almost like the microswitch used in the Schindler S-Series fixtures in Europe, probably made by Saia-Burgess as well.

Do you happen to have the chime to the MTs? I have always been wondering how the chime works on an MT and why pitch varies so much.

I think I just found out the name of these buttons. I saw a SEES document which showed the key-switches (but not the buttons) & the base was the exact same as these, & it was labeled "Schindler CT." So I'm thinking that's the actual name for these.
@stlelevators

Sometimes these elevator companies don’t know what they’re called either. Only way to find out for sure is to find someone from the company who knows for sure.
@EWPA14
@EWPA14 3 жыл бұрын
On the same page it also showed a key-switch that looked like "regular MT" & it labled that "Schindler MT." But yeah I wish these bigger companies had older documents visible.

Interesting. Just out of curiosity, even though one snaps in from the front and the other bolts in from the rear, is the hole in the steel plate the same size/shape for the two buttons?
