You can, have a mirror in the back that's the same with your height. The mirror can be the regular 10 inch x 10inch, but suspend it to a standing light. That's how I did mine, my cornrows were straight that I was proud of myself😀

I don't know where the comment is, but the question was, “ How many braids per row?” My trick is to always the middle braid or part as a guide to see how many braids are supposed to go on each side. Remember, rows with a MIDDLE BRAID are odd and rows with a MIDDLE PART are even! Now, every row won’t have a middle braid ( due to the bricklayer method), so if you part your hair and a braid falls in the middle, count the braids that are on the side of the middle braid! Ex: On row contains 5 braids. Exclude the middle and count the remaining braids on each side. Since it’s 5 braids, there should be 2 braids on each side of the middle braid. Now, if you part your hair and a PART is in the middle of your head, use that middle part as a guide! For example, this row has 6 braids in it. Half of 6 is 3. So, each side of the middle part will have 3 braids! I hope this helps! ( I'm bad at explaining things lol) 😭

You have good work. I’m going to try this preparing method on myself. 😊 I have long natural hair it’s a process but weave actually helps my styles last longer. 🤷🏽‍♀️ However, I don’t like doing small knotless because of time consuming process. I hope the pre parting speeds up time.
