There are 2 HDMI sockets on this camcorder. I use the hdmi sockets on the right side of the camera for an external monitor. I picture is great. I never used the hdmi socket under the flip cover so I can't really compare but I suggest you use the one on the right side and not the left under the flip cover. I'm sure it makes a difference. I use the hdmi socket under the flip cover for a JJC wireless remote. I personally like the button access more than the using the LCD finger touch screen. I find more people break the LCD screen more often than the button controller. You can still use the button if the LCD screen is broken, but you can't use the LCD screen touch control if the screen is broken.

Yes, mine did give me a clean HDMI output, but overall I wasn't impressed with the camcorder. It is a very cheaply made camera, and not something you would expect from Sony.

I had all kinds of problems with HDMI booster with any type of camera. Unless you buy a good quality name brand booster it is going to be hit or miss situation. I recommend buying a HDMI to SDI converter then running a 100 meter SDI cable and converting it back from SDI to HDMI on the receiving end. For example look at this one www.ebay.com/itm/394120109186

Yes you can use the camera and continuously record while it’s plugged in to power and charging.

It's an OK camera, nothing special. So it's OK for daytime outdoor shooting, but I don't recommend this for low-light night shooting. For nighttime use a full-frame camera.

Not very good, grainy if there isn't enough light, although it does operate while being plugged in to charge. Overall I don't recommend this camera unless you are really tight with cash. Remember a used great camera is better than a new cheap camera.

@@CrissCHG This Sony HDR-CX440 is a Good camera but not a great camera. Depending on how much your budget is I can recommend one at that price range. As a rule of thumb I always like a better used camera than a brand new cheap camera.

Unfortunately I didn't see any Mic Input port on this to plug in the wireless microphone receiver to it. So you can't use any wired or wireless mics with this.

@@jbestrada9317 Unfortunately not on this model, there are no external microphone options. I honesty don't recommend this camera based on my own experience. Sony makes some great cameras, but this model is not one of them.

Yes that is due the size of the sensor. For best results a 1" sensor is recommend, but then the price goes through the roof.

Stops recording after 1 minute or so saying buffer overflow , what is wrong , do you reset and how to ?

That is actually not a good thing, because it means there is memory chip failure. The camera holds about a minute or so worth of data on it's buffer memory where it gets compressed to a smaller size video format and then it stores it on the SD Memory card or internal memory card if any. So when the storage memory can't take the data the buffer overflow occurs. Try replacing the memory card to see if that will fix it.

I live stream using an Elgato Video Capture card, but you can use a smartphone to live stream from the camera itself out on the field. The bitrate depends on your cellular data rate, but overall it is a very bad quality live stream. I prefer the HDMI capture card and not wireless live streaming.
