I made this shirt using a sheet. I wasn’t sure if I was going to have to add to bust so made mock up. All the pdf patterns I’ve tried are so tight in bust area I get discouraged. This is absolutely stunning and fits perfect. I wish I could add pic to this comment but can’t figure it out. I now have the confidence to cut a piece of linen I’ve been saving since I started sewing a few months ago. Thank you so much for the free pattern and adjustments tutorial as well. 1 second ago I just worked all day with a pattern similar but my neckline turned out wavy… the instructions had you fold the bias in half and sew both edges to the neckline, understitch, then fold inside and topstitch. The neckline is puckered after pressing. I’m sad. Your video was amazing! I paid 27$ for a similar pattern yesterday! I wish I would have found you sooner! I’m subscribing!!!

That method usually works well but bias binding could be tricky… how much you stretch the bias tape beforehand affects the result and it changes depending on the specific fabric you’re using! I hope your next project is successful ❣️🌷

Currently, I don’t have budget for fit models, so I can’t speak for sizes other than my own with certainty, but the finished garment measures 49” at bust, since the top is supposed to fit very loosely. with some modification explained in my other video (link in description box), it might work for larger sizes. something to think about for my future projects. Depends on what you’re looking for, but I would probably make the hem longer :)

I make the sleeves longer (about to my elbow) and roll them up. I also make the neckline a lot higher (that means you have to sew a placket or make a keyhole in the neck so you can pull it over over your head).

I love your easy tutorial. I am amazed however at how quiet your sewing machine is. My Kenmore sewing machine sounds like I'm at the firing range. It works but it's loud. LOL

Thank you! My singer makes more noise than the video shows, I just turn down the volume of the video clip so it’s not so annoying to viewers! But oiling and greasing the machine did help, too!

Love this.❤. My body shape is odd. B-38 W-36 H-40. I have a high tummy. So when I try making tops like this it's not fitting weell😢. HELP

Everyone’s body is built differently so it’s hard to come up with a solution without actually fitting a body, but I would maybe start with trying shapes like A-line (wider at the bottom) or empire (cinch in under the bust and becomes wider at the bottom) ??

Sorry, I know many people want a wider size range, but since I don’t own a pattern company, offering different sizes would be a quite investment for me! you can easily enlarge the pattern by one or 2 sizes using this technique: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oanJZaJuqMqFr6s I think “Cedar Dolman Top” from Cashmerette patterns is very similar and they offer multiple sizes.
