I started watching this thinking “how chincy” and that I would never do this on my Tacoma. By the end of this video I was pretty impressed with your ingenuity. While I still feel like this is a 50/50 truck, 50 miles an hour and 50ft away this thing looks really cool, the ideas you have to solve common issues are pretty rad.

Ran across you while searching for examples of a diy roof awning. Great videos and I appreciate the time you take to make them as well as the underlying message that you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to have fun overlanding. So many content creators on KZbin making videos that feel more like product commercials. It’s refreshing to find someone like yourself that is more about working with what you have and being creative. Thanks for sharing!

Already got the lift kit and 33" Mud Claw Tires, Dick Cepek 15" blackout wheels. Looking to get a similar front bumper to his from Northwest Trail Innovations. They're virtually identical from what I can tell. I thought his was from NWTI. Getting a rear bumper and wheel mount too. It's all coming in 2021.

Awesome builds and upgrades! Your work makes me want to buy a MIG welder-I have a 2017 GMC Sierra, and there's not a lot of fullsize aftermarket parts (bumpers specifically) that I like on the market. Your fabrication is great-simple, clean, and functional. I'm military, and in my last assignment, I had access to a weld/fab shop and the 'skilled labor', and built an awesome over the bed rack system that holds 4X 5 gal water/fuel cans, and 4 big ammo cans with a rack just below roof level-the vision is to get a roof top tent on it eventually. I have no welding skills, and did most of the 'unskilled' labor of cutting, bending, and my welders showed me how to tack weld and I 'drop a few beads' (mine were pretty JV!). I had a blast working on this w/ the guys-there's nothing more fun that designing something and seeing it through completion. Keep on fab'ing!

Nice truck!! I had 2x 2003 double cab Tacoma 4x4 at one point. I sold one to a family member and now I still have 1. Love these trucks! I think the look of them and being smaller form, they’re the best 4 door Tacoma ever built for off-roading! The new Tacoma’s are huge compared to these models. Believe or not, the new Tacomas are the same size as the first gen tundras! I’d rather have a first gen tundra than a new Tacoma if given the choice, as the tundra can do a lot more for the same size/ form factor.

Just because you have a “snorkel” doesnt mean you can drive through water… if your entire engine bay isn’t water tight with marine-grade electrical, you still can’t submerge as deep as the stock air box. Your snorkel should be vented to the rear, the only things it’s actually doing for you is helping your engine breathe a little less road dust and maybe get some cooler air. Vent it to the back to stop all the grit blowing in.

Love the truck man. I've got an 02 myself, wanna do a lot of things you have done to yours. Nothing wild, because it's a daily, but i want to camp from it to. Mines an extended cab so i have a bit more length for camping. Do you ever dd it? What's your mpg and road manners like? Thanks for the great detail as always!

I’ve always wondered.... What is the benefit of mounting your spare on a rack swing out rather than just tucking it up the original way. And if you have a swing out what do you do with the extra space where the spare originally goes?
@tylermorfey6567
@tylermorfey6567 3 жыл бұрын
Minus from what you did. Do most people run a compressor if they have a swing out or is it just for the look? And or convenience for other things
