@imjoshv Hi, please requesting your input. Living in Jax, FL and have an MDX. The car had not been washed for few weeks and had a slight discoloration. The car had a quite a few bud splatters on the bumper and hood. Decided to hand wash the suv to remove the bug splatters, ended up buying TurtleWax Bug and Tar remover spray. Rinsed the vehicle and then applied the bug and tar remover on the affected area. Cleaned it by using a soft bristle brush so that it would not scratch the paint. To make a note the discoloration was also present on the hood of the suv. Using the soft bristle brush, the spray did lather and removed the bug splatter, to add it also cleaned, removed the discoloration and shine. I was surprised. It looks a lot brighter than rest of the vehicle. My question is, by using the bug spray on the hood will it cause any paint damage? Can the product be used on rest of the vehicle to remove the discoloration. Planning to polish, apply ceramic coating and wax the vehicle. Please requesting your input/feedback. Thank you 🙏.

Josh, if you haven't tried the armor all ceramic shampoo you totally should. 8oz in a foam canon gives good foam, good lubrication, and excellent protection. Good beading, and after a day or two the slickness on the paint is excellent.
@casmithc2 Жыл бұрын
8ozs??!! That sounds like a lot! That much would make it really expensive to use.
@joeschmoe6908 Жыл бұрын
@@casmithc2 It would be a lot just for a regular shampoo. I never use it more than once a month, and even then the protection is still almost at 100%. In between I use a highly alkaline truck wash as a prewash and then use a regular ph neutral car soap for my contact wash. So if you only used a regular car soap most of the time you could probably go 2 months or more between applications. It's just as easy as washing your car to apply.

@@joeschmoe6908 Does your truck wash remove the ceramic shampoo? does that defeat the purpose of using 8 ounces? Do you let the Ceramic dwell a long time? Thanks!
@joeschmoe6908 Жыл бұрын
@@casmithc2 no it does not remove it. I just mentioned it to show how durable the ceramic shampoo is. When I use the ceramic shampoo I foam it on and use it for my contact wash, then rinse off immediately. So total dwell time might be 10 minutes or less. It costs around $12 for 50oz, so you're paying $2 but only every month or two.
@joeschmoe6908 Жыл бұрын
@@casmithc2 I use 8oz because less doesn't quite give me the foam I want (I like a lot of foam), and more can actually be a bit of a pain to rinse off. Even with 8oz you need to rinse carefully, but its not a big deal.
