Long sleeves, cover your neck face and eyes with at least 50fps clothes. Works for me everytime I work in direct sunlight. Try to use polarized sunglasses too.

If you start with a polish, and then have to use a compound to remove harder scratches, do you go back and finish again with another polish?

Oscar; it's funny you did this on a subject that another detailer (who shall remain anonymous), had recapped two days ago. The only difference, and I pointed it out to him, was that he did his video under a shade tree. You took the subject 300% to actually have a vehicle under direct sunlight (verified with a temperature gauge); and polished on video the whole front end. The video concluded with actual car being entirely polished. Probably didn't need to take it that far; however, you showed not only was it possible to polish portions of a car in the heat, you can polish the whole car. Excellent video Oscar; my hat is off to you!!!

Interesting point. However Phil and his wife were not really showing HOW some products react in the sun, how long they can be left on the paint, etc. They were simply showing you their favorite products to use outside. Maybe the panel's weren't 180 degrees, however each of those products used in their video CAN be used in direct sunlight. I assure you.

Been doing mobile detailing /outside only for a year now. Waxing , polishing headlights , interior full deep cleaning and now have done 2 cars with one step Scholl s20 and navy spider pads. Not yet hot where I am so it was safe, but it will be hot Jun -August Planning to one step with Scholl s20 in full sun In June when it will be hot. Will compound not turn rock hard in few seconds in full sun ? Any advice please ? P.S. can't afford to ruin any cars cause of too much sun

I agree most clients will only want to spend for a 1 step . Most clients who want a 2 step would be people with high end cars and even tho a lot of my clients have Porsche/Audi’s/Range Rover and they won’t even spend for a 2 ste ceramic coating.

I find here where i live in Australia that polishing in direct sunlight is hard on the foam pad since the machine generates heat and the foam pad through the polishing process generates heat not to mention that the panel being polished is hot so being aware of pad condition as you are going is important. Have several identical pads on hand and switch to the next pad when you find the one you are using is getting too hot because heat is the enemy of polishing pads. It literally destroys them.

Do you think its easier to get customers as a mobile detailer or is it easier as a detailer that requires a drop off at their location??
@Brian-dj3ru

Its all about what you rather do..there's successful mobile detailers and successful in shop detailers.so that tells you tge clientele is there for both..its just matter of what you would rather do.most of the time people start off mobile detailing so they can hustle up some more money by doing quick washes etc and people like that convenience.so starting off mobile is smart and then when you get the trust and respect and word of mouth spreads you can open up a shop or detail out of your garage

I would give you tips on how to deadlift more efficiently, but I don't want to be an asshole. Thank You sir for bringing all of the great content. I hope to hear back from you, Oscar.
