A different type of video. I can definitely appreciate it. Glad you shared it with us.

At first I was surprised by the high production values. Then I realized you were just taking as much time and effort with the photography and editing as you were with the detail. Nice work on both counts.
@jmt42887 ай бұрын
It's definitely something some folks don't think about. The detail (as with all Sandro's vids) probably took 1.5 times longer due to having to find the right shot angle and set up the tripod. Then there's the fact he has to work at weird angles just to make sure the action is captured without body parts getting in the way. The editing might have been the part that took the longest, but only Sandro could speak to that. What we see in this 30 min vid probably took 5+ hrs of work. The cars take even longer. Btw, Sandro, the AU Machine Polisher link is broken. It's pointing to some tape. Also, thanks for another great video!

I was thinking that detail would cost about 1/3 to1/2 of a new mower. Absolutely a labor of love, it looked better than brand new, Aloha from Maui

Good day Sandro, I work at a lawn mower and equipment repair shop..parts and service counter. We service various brands including John Deere. If you were our customer, coming in for service, I think we’d pay you for the privilege to work on such a clean unit…😊. Outstanding attention to detail with the deck and pulleys…

Wonderful video, Sandro. Can’t emphasize enough how important it is to immediately dry components with mowers. Decks rust right-away if anyone simply sprays them and let’s them air-dry. I actually repaint my deck (push-mower) every other year, but pick a wild color just to keep the neighbors on their toes. I use the same process you would with automotive paint (sand to bare-metal, DTM primer, high-build, base and clear). So much fun. And I use the good cans of 4K clear so that you can polish and protect to your heart’s content. This year the mower is Schoolbus Yellow. Last time I did McLaren Orange! 😂 Take care, Sandro. Keep pushing the art forward!

A good detailer should be able to do a near perfect restoration, but also understand when and when not this near perfection should be aimed for. This is a perfect example to show that even if the restoration isn't, nor needs to be near perfect, the results will still look amazing.

How would you restick a sticker thats coming off of plastic? One of my labels is peeling on my push mower
@CarCraftAutoDetailing7 ай бұрын
I just quickly cleaned the peeled section with some alcohol and put a little double sided tape on mind for now - probably won’t last long. It’s quit hard and messy to re-stick a failing sticker/decal, I’d say you’ll need to use some adhesive/tar remover to remove all the glue, and reply some fresh glue- might have to research the correct glue/adhesive to apply.

Hey Sandro, I have a theory I'd like to hear your opinion on. I have a BMW X3 with a panoramic sunroof which is waiting to get coated (by me). I also have bottles of Nv Evo, Dquartz Gforce, and Dlux. My theory is - with Dlux formulated as a wheel and plastics coating, it has the highest chemical resistance of the 3 but least paint enhancement characteristics. Therefore, for a panoramic sunroof which will never see a wiper blade, Dlux would actually be the best of the 3 to coat it in terms of longevity, given as it hasn't had to make any sacrifices in longevity to trade off for paint enhancement. What do you reckon about my theory?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing7 ай бұрын
You could be right - but if I had to guess what would last the longest there without any specific prior testing I’d tend to put my money on Evo
