Hi Ken, it's worth noting that with 2d details, it's a good idea to use Building Materials with the Fill Tool to keep things consistent throughout the model.

Back to 2D approach introduces all the pitfalls we hope to avoid with working in 3D, any changes and your 2D keeps sitting there while the wall changed or section moved... does not get spotted in updates and creates inconsistent drawings.... Any of that detail can be added in 3D and that is in my opinion good practice and can be shared through IFC.
