We will be carrying some of my favorites from the Griot's line in the OG store, so I'm putting some time in with the tools to curate my beginner or "entry-level" polishing package. The Griot's products check a lot of these boxes for good entry-level polishers at a lower cost of entry. I also am really enjoying the Griot's fast correcting cream. I guess Billy from Presidential was right...

My go-to polishers are Griot's G15 and their 3" DA. Their customer service is awesome. I had my G15 crap out on me. I replaced the brushes, still did not work. I called Griot's and they sent me a shipping label and told me bring it to FedEx. Two days later, I had a brand new G15 delivered to the house.

The removable power cord is such a nice thing to have. I have the Adam’s Pro polisher (I know I know, i’m cheap and it was on sale last Black Friday) but I didn’t realize how much i’d like that feature. Definitely looking to upgrade to the cordless stuff now. I can’t imagine how nice that must be.

Yeah I have the milwaukee and dewalt cordless DAs(i only have the dewalt because i got it a few years ago back when milwaukee did not have the DA) and it’s incredible. As long as you have a few batteries and a milwaukee rapid charger you are set.

A few years ago when I took a dive into detailing (as a hobby) I started with the Griots G9 and as a newbie I have enjoyed it. Then last year got the G8 and find it also is easy to use. Love the detachable cord.

The smaller Griots polisher stalls easily. Mine gathers dust. The Rupes runs circles around it. Unless I got a bad one... stay away.

@@timkinley1779apparently you got a bad one. My little G8 is my go to on smaller panels or curvy areas. I even use it on my boats Gel coat with 3M heavy cut and coarse foam or wool pads no problem with stalling.

I bought a new G8 mini for cheap earlier in the year... used it for the first time this week and I was genuinely surprised how much I liked it. Pretty low vibration and balance, especially for a polisher that can be had new in the low $1xx range.

The GG Lifetime Warranty was the deal maker for this new DIY end user. If they trust their product enough to warranty it for life (against mfg defect), it's a no lose proposition for this patron.

Hi There! I have the Mirka 3” polisher and I really enjoy using it, but I wish it had a trigger lock as I find it irritating to continually having to squeeze the trigger all the time. I find I get some hand fatigue that I wouldn’t experience if it had a trigger lock. I really appreciate how vibration free it is and how quiet it is so I just have to put up with no trigger lock! Yes I would buy it again!
@ObsessedGarage

Agreed. My plan is to convince them there is a huge market for this and a 5" machine, but....we need a trigger lock for sure.

After trying a bunch of different tools it feels like Rupes isn't as nice. At work the mini rupes cordless stopped working and all the other rupes the white trim and bumpers peel and fall off after 2 months and without it they're too slippery. I have the cordless dewault but going to get the milwaukees especially with the new stacked lithium batteries that just came out. I think they'll have a 3 inch m12 out soon. Now I even prefer the g9 over the rupes.

when you open the door and stick the machine out and blow out the pad, don't you get that old polish splatter all over your exterior walls or driveway pavers? I saw ammo's Kosilla do it while sticking the machine into a trash bin, that seemed more sensible

What do you suggest to do if we don’t have an air compressor to blow out the pads?
@ObsessedGarage

If you don’t have access to an air compressor, a soft to medium bristle brush and a microfiber towel will work, to an extent. You'd also need more pads and swap more often.

There are three words I think most should remove from their normal vocabulary: try, hype, and overpriced. When you say "try," what you really mean is that you aren't doing it. Hype is such a weak word. It implies impressionable or easily influenced. I don't think that is a good way to live. There is no such thing as overpriced. I buy what I think is going to be good, or I think I may have an interest.

Rupes mk3 doesnt stall if you use washer or sand the shroud. 21 cuts so much more than 15 so as a part time detailer it is must have for me, it cuts more than a rotary. But yeah my 21 and 15 rupes have been collecting the dust after i bought 15 and 21 Millwaukee.

Such a goofy car, just like all EV's. Except this one is from a business that can't achieve on their promises and hasn't made a profit, their EBITDA is laughable. Good luck owning this rolling complex operating system once they close down shop. EV's are reaching market saturation and companies like this one are going to feel the full pain of that + money is expensive now and nearly 6 figure EV's are tanking.
