@@andrewbryce2707 it's not unbelievable. These kids are groomed from 13-14 years to give everything to play footy and make the NRL. All this while watching thier friends going partying and missing out all the time. Now that they've made the NRL they're trying to play catch up and get the girls with their fame. I understand it. I've also seen footy players out in the clubs and seen people try to pick on them because of their fame. I think players should pay for their own security when going out because like everyone in the world they need to blow off steam now and then. But banning them from alcohol is not the answer, that just adds fuel to the fire next time they have drink. That's why footy players binge drink. Just my opinion.
@tonysimon63123 жыл бұрын
It's unbelievable that alcohol is still so engrained in rugby league? Australian culture mate. Accountants, lawyers, tradies, you name it, all have individuals that drink excessively and get into fights, go to work drunk or high. They don't have media follow them around, and the don't get sacked for it. In those jobs, your employer has vey little say in what you do after hours. As for league, there's 480 registered player's. The 10 incidents you read about every year adds up to 1% of players. If 1% is a problem, you must be an Angel. Most of the players are professional athletes these day and a good % don't even drink. You assessment is not accurate.

Spare me the brave bullshit. There are people actually fighting for their lives, battling cancer and just trying to live through this lockdown. There is a perception that players that are talented must naturally be good upstanding people and by and large most are but not all. It's that small percentage that aren't that end up in trouble. That goes for any sport. How much do you really know other than their talent and what they want you to know.

There’s a lot of us out there guilty of the same thing. The only difference is that these young men are public figures earning huge amounts of money. A vast majority i would guess have poor educational levels and it shows in interviews. They need better highly paid managers to help control their day to day activities.
