The bent clock gear, (for some reason, clock gears are called wheels) is called an Escape Wheel. A somewhat U shaped device with 2 points, called a Verge, is attached to the pendulum. As the pendulum moves back and forth, it rocks the Verge back and forth on the Escape Wheel. This assembly gives the clock it's tic - tock sound. From the size of that escape wheel, the clock would have been quite large.

If you are ever in Cairns, Queensland, Australia. Come and stay with us and we'll show you the old Gold Fields and all the other joys of tropical Far North Queensland, Australia (uno, the Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest etc etc). There are a lot of old abandoned Gold Towns in the bush up here (the area we are talking about is probably larger than most European Countries) and all sorts of old WW2 paraphernalia from the War in the Pacific. Love ya work! Keep it up :D

1:40 50 Caliber gun, most likely from a American M2 Browning. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M2_Browning 3:12 Axehead, but not for cutting wood. This is from a battle axe i believe, which makes it medieval. Looking at the size, it is likely a one-hand weapon. 17:27 That ring is from a farm most likely. One of those rings you could tie the rope of your horse or cow to.

Why don't you work the hard to access areas around the fields' borders such as in briar patches? Lots of things are lost during berry picking and easily given up on once discovered. Some great finds have been had in them especially where their adjoining fields have been pretty well scoured.

Hi Dan, as a fellow detectorist, I'm keen to know how you are able to bring back found items 'from any country' into the UK ?. Many of your hunts have been very successful and I'm sure you didn't simply give them away or leave them behind. Just how do you get all your finds threw customs on the flight back here to the UK on returning please ??. I have had problems in the past, so would really like to know your tips and tricks please. Given also the heightened security, I'm sure your bag of metal items would set the scanners off big time, LOL.

@phantomairsoft81479 жыл бұрын
That was a 30-06 bullet tip, not a 50 cal, I've shot them bothe, and taken them both apart. That is defiantly a 30-06 round. If it was a 50 cal, it would be a machine gun. 50 cal sniper rifles weren't invented until 2002. So there would be more than one because it would be automatic, while carbines that shot 30-06 rounds are semi automatic only so there would be 1-2 at the most (depending on how good of a shot the soldier was). For the machine gun, there would 4-10 at the least-max

I dig them up around the old part of a military base here in the states in an area that was used for the practice of the invasion of Germany. Phantom Airsoft You know nothing XD its definetly cal 50. (cal. 50 is from 1920 was first used in Browning M2 Heavy Mashine Guns) between you maybe notice that the bullet is as big as his thumb. If you have ever seen a 3006 round you would know its just 7,6x33mm. I bet you have never seen a real Rifle. Oh and German Tankgewehr 1918 had bigger Ammo in 1918 ( 13mm ). And a finish Sniper and Anti Tank Rifle from 1939 (Lathi L-39 ) has 20mm rounds. So better look up what you want to say before talking.

@TimothyKennedy19 жыл бұрын
Jung Choi I think it is actually Illegal to metal detect on ANY of the D-Day beaches. The entire area is designated as War Grave, therefore relic hunting and metal detecting etc etc is illegal (and seriously disrespectful anyway). Its a shame coz it WOULD throw up some interesting stuff.....but as I said.....war grave....let those Brave Men Rest In Peace.
@phineasmurph95399 жыл бұрын
Timothy Kennedy If that's illegal it would probably be best to metal detect where the parachute landings happened, or some were near the beach.
