though I had some problem with sea water It also kzbin.infoUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

OK i am getting inspired by this. Received my open water license in 1982 I need a refeasher course and some equipment. I need to know a good entry-level detector that looks like a real nice one. I was thinking Texas might not have stuff that old, but then remember they found the La Salle off the Gulf Coast. 1560's so there is all kind of old stuff around here that could have washed up from hurricanes and what not. I like your detecting video style: no nonsense, factual and well researched sites. Keep up the good work.!!

+James Stockbauer A good simple detector that gets the job done is the "Underwater" by Detectorpro. The Excalibur is an all around better detector but its twice the price. I use both machines and have had much success with both.

Imagine 100 years ago someone lost that ring... It would have been a really sad day at the beach... If only they knew that it would be found 100 years later by an futuristic iphone owning metal detecting youtube poster! What was your haul worth do you think?

If what he’s saying about a lot of that stuff is true and that he isn’t mistaken about it being gold and silver (I doubt that he’s wrong) I’d guess you could get a couple hundred dollars for those rings if they were properly cleaned

@@MydogTobesNowhere near this much. Unlike popular opinion gold like other mineral, particulates are affected greatly by saltwater or fluids containing high concentrations of sodium bicarbonates. As the ring in its current condition is as valuable as a broken record it would need to be melted down and stamped with its weight and sold as refined gold which you would get some money for but i doubt it would be enough to cover the foundry costs. The silver he found is not worth much if it is that and I have my doubts due to how rusted and corroded it is (silver does not do this it instead just turns black but remains smooth this black layer can be removed with silver polish that you can buy at an everyday shop. That silver probs has some other metals added to it and is not pure tho. All in all I would say if he went to the effort all of this would be in the range of 100-250 max.

Elverhoj jewelry comes from an artist community in upstate New York, circa 1913, where "Instruction was offered in painting, etching, jewelry, weaving, metalwork, and bookbinding…. The main product of the Elverhöj Colony seems to have been jewelry, made of gold and silver with semi-precious stones." Quote from: chicagosilver.com/elverhoj The colony was named after the play. :)

Hi! Such cool finds! I love those keys and tags as much as the rings and other stuff. They would look really neat hanging from an old key holder
