This makes RNA substrate misincorporation the most common and needs special fidelity enzymes to rectify. Misincorporations can occur by increasing the level of one type of dNTP or a balanced increase of all four dNTP s. The fastest known enzymatic rate increase of 10^17 is by orotidine decarboxylase to produce UMP , the TMP substitute in RNA.
