I just came across this vid and you sir literally saved me 2 hours worth of watching my professors useless lectures. This method is so much more intuitive and easy than the garbage my textbook is trying to tell me!

I think all of your videos are brief and easy to understand and I really appreciate you breaking down each problem step-by-step. Often times, this is a skill most educators either forget to do or are uninterested in doing so. Thanks for all of the videos, really top notch!

Seriously why didnt my professor do it this way. He tried to find all the potential functions as he was doing the integrals rather than doing it all in the end. Thanks. This is much more clearer.

this channel is soo sooo sooo underrated, there are too many reasons that make those videos the best that I feel lazy to write them all! Thank you from the bottom of my heart !

Thank you so much for all of your amazingly helpful and simple videos! This has been the most useful video I've seen of yours yet, because my professor--and I believe most professors--teach the method of finding a potential function in an incredibly overcomplicated way which would literally take ten or more times longer than this way. I can't say how grateful I am! Thank you, may God bless you! 😁😁👍🏻

Does using this method to determine the potential function work every time? It just seems too easy and I don't know why they don't teach it this way.
@thobanivitaleous28373 ай бұрын
yeah it looks suspiciously easy😁😁

good video very helpful but i think there might be special cases where just integrating through w.r.t each component does not work
@DarrellVermilion12 жыл бұрын
I feel the exact same way. I'm afraid to use this method on my test tomorrow. Maybe it makes me uneasy because he's not taking the time to equate the potential "constant" functions with their partials.

I just went back and doublechecked, and it looks like as long as the function's conservative, etc., this method will work (at least it did in my homework problems). However, if your professor is heavy on theory he/she may require more "proofing" than what's shown here. He's skipping the theory, that's all.

you are awesome i hope you know that. keep up the good work!

At 1:20 you're saying you're taking a partial derivative with respect to X but you actually didn't. That part through me off.....
@Mathispower4u8 жыл бұрын
The x and y components of F are the partial derivatives.

If you try this with a nonconservative vector field, the gradient of "potential function" will be different than the vector field you began with.
