As an overall product, ofcourse you can't compare this to the Gryphon, but sound signature wise, what would you have to say? Maybe even considering xbass?

Tough decision , because the Gryphon has enhancements, clarity wise depends on what firmware your using on the SG1 one is very detailed and balanced and the other is lush and fun

I'm considering this but I'm hearing this has issues like overheating on high gain/high volume, battery discharging quickly than what's promised and random shut offs. Have you been experiencing these issues? And also if you are not having any issues would you say this is still the best Bluetooth dac/amp in terms of sound quality? Thank you!

The only issue so far is it refuses to work if the battery is bellow 20% after charging it plays well, I can think of a dozen better devices for the cost

@untitledwebm A XDSD is pretty close and cheaper but I personally like the BTR7 and The ifi Gryphon

​@@jubilant_ear_reviews xDSD gryphon is more than twice as much as BTR7, does BTR7 sound as good as gryphon or SG-1 considering it is the cheapest? I talked to an agent from dethonray he says the SG-1 models that are on sales right now have the latest firmware which changed the sound from last year units, how do you compare the sound between old and new, I've heard the updated firmware has less bass and is more neutral.

@untitledwebm There was two firmware options before one was more neutral and detailed, the other was lively and robust. I'm not sure about current gen ones , don't get me wrong it does sound fantastic but it is a temperamental device for many

Hey, I've hifiman r9 which are very bassy headphones, if I pair it with this amp will the bass become too much and get distorted and bloated?

Depends on the firmware you're using, one is fun and will increase bass and the other is more detailed

@@jubilant_ear_reviews so if I use fun sounding one there will definitely be a chance of distorted bass? Did you tried this amp with a bass heavy headphone? How does it sound on those? Does it become too warm and bloated with bass?
