It's difficult to know what backpacking in winter conditions is really like for you guys... in the snow, wind, wet and cold, with foot issue and failing shoes these last few days. You genuinely help us comprehend the suffering, the struggle, yet you go on How many of us could hike on like you and truck driver? You two are amazing! Take care of you, and hike on. Sometimes you just need to get off trail and regroup. The thing with starting so early is yes, the bubble is no where to be seen but you also have plenty of time to heal your mind and body. Dont worry about the trail you already did, heal so you can do the next 2100 miles. You can always go back. Love the videos thanks

best thing i carried for the last 1000 miles on my '22 thru was a tube of E6000. Dollar general I think. Only thing that held my Altras together.

My new pair is after 150 miles. I wear altra lone peak 8s. Altra gave me a gift certificate for their one year warranty. My first pair out here i accidentally melted haha. Totally my fault for being careless while drying

My guess is the coyotes are walking in tracks for the same reason hikers do. Because it's easier walking.

@@WanderwithSam I do most of my walking at night, and I hear coyotes most nights. But is very rare to see them. They are sneaky buggers.

Have you looked into the carnivore diet? Completely healed my gout and havent had symptoms in a year. I avoid organ meat and fish as they are high in purins though.

I did that when I was at home and had zero issues. Out were my diet changed to crappy hiker Food and my body was pissed

@WanderwithSam Yeah I thruhiked the AT in 2016 and hard to avoid the garbage carbs like ramen and instant potato's that cause flare ups for sure. Precooked bacon and eggs were my go to. Best of luck.
