Androids are not living, their emotions are fake, they only conforming to their programs. Androids can upload memory to new body or using spare parts to keep existing. Alice will never grow up, she's programmed to be a child and always be. Kara is a housemaid android programmed to care and love. They both just role-playing their mom-daughter relationship because that's what they're programmed to do. Unless Kara finally realized what really happen behind their relationship and leave Alice, Kara is not become human because she's not breaking away from her programming and keep her fake unrealistic relationship.

That only happens if you fail a few QTES and Connor drops the gun. After that, the fights extends to Connor breaking Markus' neck then shooting him. If you successfully do most the QTES correctly, Connor won't drop his gun and instead he'll just pin Markus to the ground with his foot and shoot him, thus making the fight quicker.

Yazu It is implied that all of the android programs were coded with a dormant virus that can cause Deviancy, which is activated by an error in the program. It was a part of Kamski's plan and depending on the choices made throughout the game, Kamski's plan either succeeds or fails. Though even if it fails, he's still off the hook regardless. It was an experiment to see how the in-game humans (and the players) deal with Androids emulating human behavior. That was the entire point of the game.

I just realised the amount of historical tradgey refrences they have in Detroit. Slavery (obvious), Jericho is a reference to the escape tunnel for slaves, the Android destruction camp is a reference to the concentration camps (especially when they're told to strip off and are sent into chambers). And a few more that I'm probably forgetting

I played through to the junkyard ending with Luther Alice and Kara alive, but that only works if you've met and talked to pretty much every character that could be her friends you at least need Ralph, Jerry, and the cyborg monsters from the what's his face house of horror as a minimum and you can't sacrifice Luther you have to bring him with you.

It's funny, I was surprised too although it was very subtly hinted at sometimes. Zlatko called Alice "the little one", and if you meet the Android in the bathroom and ask about a little girl, he says there's no little girl. At Rose's house Alice even asks Kara "Why do humans hate us?"

when connor and hank fight in one of the end scenes what happens if A. hank defeats connor and B. if connor doesn't drop hank off the rooftop?

If Connor saves hank and doesn't throw him off, he pushes hank behind him away from the ledge. Connor then looks over the ledge and hank charges at him. There's a qte and if you miss it hank pushes connor off the roof (but apologies) if you get it connor kinda sidestep hank and he falls
