If you’re going to hype up the SEC; then add the SEC busts in your commentary. SEC teams in the NFL don’t succeed! You need a good bullpen of talented guys regardless of conference! The SEC hype train is overrated but they have some good players. Certain positions continue to prevail against the odds but overall they fail in legitimate positions. The NFL is consistently positioned to win with Non-drafted picks than big money SEC players! Look deeper into the draft to find the best players. Top 10 picks are probably likely to fall short. In his biography , he went to the hardware store , bought a thick 10 pound chain , 2 padlocks , and hid them under his uniform to make the weigh - in at 250 lbs. His D-line coach said , I don't believe it , but the scale says you made the weight to be a D- lineman. He was really about James Houston's weight as a rookie of about 240 lbs. Randle's in the HOF.

John Randle toe guy...That would be more than anyone could hope for, but Aaron Donald was passed on for same reason: 6 foot 280. What a steal this could be.

I'm really interested in how the overall effectiveness of the Lions front 4 will be as a unit over the season. This DL will be a challenge IMO for Offensive Lines to overcome as it'll be hard to simply attempt to double team any 1 particular player consistently and not get burned by another DL in one on one coverage.

Na we got good WR people sleep on Donavan peoples jones but he is legit he just lacking drive and passion he is extremely smart pre med in college so he is saving his body for after football which I don't blame him 🤷 but if we find away like winning that reignites that passion in DPJ he could be a weapon in the red zone. What we need is a back up stretch LB who can replace alex rod rego is a fan favorite I know but he is under size for pro TE unless we play nickle alot rod rigo is a good run support line back but my fear is alex is getting old and injuries are bound to happen so we need a little dept at LB definitely with the new kick off rules someone who can bump bodies without needing a running start to move people.

What I take away from the whole DJ Reader info is that his commanding a double team really changes the outlook for the Lions Defensive line. Hutch already commands double (occasionally triple) coverage. If both Hutch AND Reader command a double team, that means someone in that four man rush is probably going to be open to run at the QB. Otherwise, one of those two guys is going one-on-one vs an OL. Boy I hope Reader is healthy through the season. If he is, the Lions defensive line can be a real problem.

Kancey is under sized also. And he started to turn it on last year for Tampa. AD was under sized also. Wingo was a top 15 player in the draft.

Did Cominsky fall off or did the team around him get better? I think Comisky is the same as he was when we picked him up off waivers from Atlanta. But the Lions d-line is so much better overall. Cominsky will make the team, he is a leader, and is worth having as a solid backup. You can never have enough DT's, especially with so many of the Lions other DT's having injury issues. His contract is up after this season.
