I don’t believe he was “Beat” from off the line. I see more that he has patience. He didn’t bite until he saw his guy actually cut. He then trusted his speed to recover and trusted his eyes on when he saw his guy look back. He’s a very high IQ guy. Love it

I think this clip demonstrates his awareness and his patience. A lot of dbs get handsy and grabby when a receiver gets a step or two on them. But what's most encouraging about that play is he looked back to locate the ball early enough to make a play. Which is something I scream about. He already has the instincts at reading routes and knowing when to look for the ball. The start wasn't great but the finish was fantastic. He'll be fine, he's a rookie. He has plenty of room to get better and faster. The point is he has a great positional foundation to build on as a rookie. With that alone' his learning curve will be shortened.

@nikolaisuterovich You proved my point if the quarterback was better. He would have thrown a touchdown pass. It would have been a td against him instead of a interception. He was beat and the quarterback did not make the play. It happens. He's a rookie cornerback, and they take time in the pros. To be better. There will be growing Pains. I would like to know how the other cornerback we drafted is doing and see some highlights of him.

Watch the WR, Derrick. The ball should've left the QB's hand within 10 yards of the route. The WR's looking for the ball there. It ain't there. So, the WR routes it outside the hash. Still looking for the ball. The ball was a floater. 🦁

I wish they'd run the 40 on turf or grass in cleats and pads. I bet times would be way different and would not be linear. Meaning they wouldn't all just go up in time by the same amount. Because then you factor in strength and technique and more. That's why guys with bad 40s can look fast in game and vice versa.

The fan base has been exhausted with high day 1 day 2 cb picks from previous regimes who had 4.5ish 40's. Guys like Teez Tabor or Nevin Lawson as of late. So skepticism probably over stated but it'll be tempered bc like you said in the video Terrion finishes. There's a technique he has and hands that Lawson and Teez never displayed. Now with the elite receivers the Lions faced last yr, Jefferson, Lamb ect you probably don't want to give them that step, that said there's an aggressiveness and with guys like Branch, Joseph, Iffy in the back, a 2nd yr growth in Campbell there will be help with the elite 1s , will Terrion need that when the opponent doesn't have an elite 1? Not a chance that guy is going to shut people down. I also am not expecting the DBs to have to hold coverage as long, I honestly believe the pressure to the QB will be much improved

CB have to react to the WR so on most plays their trailing which makes them look like their beat. The best CB’s know how to close on the WR & then track the ball based off the eyes and/or body language of the WR. This is text book recovery and read. Then he makes the pick. Thing of beauty!
@s1mplexjackttv
@s1mplexjackttv 13 күн бұрын
There was a pick off the line which changes his route which is normal. He’s not pressing so there will be 2 yards of separation between him and the receiver. Basically if they threw the slant it would have been either an incompletion or a 4 yard gain. His turning upfield and kept his speed reducing the separation. And while trailing him on that turn upfield look how he never looked at the QB. He used the WR head movements to predict his move while getting inside. Textbook coverage
