U-Matic tape containing footage shot of the parade on June 15, 1989 following the 1989 National Basketball Associations World Championship victory by the Detroit Pistons in downtown Detroit. The video is continued from 2015.008.032, and includes the final two floats in the parade, as well as the team and crowd preparing for the ceremony on the temporary Grand Prix bridge over Larned Street.
The tape begins with a shot of the Renaissance Center float. After several brief shots of the route. The camera captures a mounted Detroit Police Department maintaining a buffer between the crowd and the float carrying Joe Dumars, Isiah Thomas, and Chuck Daly. This float is decorated with a large globe of the Earth. The remainder of the tape consists of shots of the team gathered on the Grand Prix bridge over Larned Street, and the crowd below.
The video is on a 3M UCA-30s U-Matic S tape with a small handwritten label on the top. The tape is housed within a black plastic latching clamshell case with a handwritten 3M label on the cover.
