Now this is the beauty of Detroit that you never see on national news. There are a lot more beautiful neighborhoods in the city of Detroit. But sometimes people choose to go to the less fortunate neighborhoods. But at the rate that Detroit is changing things. They're going to be fourth or should I say they will have to admit not only has Detroit come a long ways. But Detroit is a beautiful beautiful city.

It could possibly be that Detroit is a failed city, and the majority of it looks like a hellscape? There are parts of Rowanda that a beautiful as well, but it’s know for its in your face poverty.

Aaaahh...So young, I remember the 1960's and 'Dutch Elm'- ALL those trees were cut down, some houses saw the sun for the first timer in 20-years or so. Or the fight to get the area a R-1 coding.

When my sister & I moved to Detroit. We stayed in the hood for three or four years before moving to North Rosedale Park. Tbh this is the Detroit that I'm use to.

A person coming from out-of-state to a sports event at the University of Detroit Mercy, chose to take and highlight a "ruin porn" thing instead of driving through the gorgeous neighborhoods in the area. Nothing but contempt for such people.

So right. It’s almost impossible to buy a house now. We have been trying for over 2 years. Prices up over $50,000 from when we first started looking.

How beautiful the Midwest is in the spring! What a beautiful neighborhood! At one time just about all of Detroit's neighborhoods looked like this! When the blighted, dangerous neighborhoods in Detroit are rid of the vermin that live in them then Detroit will truly change!

I guess Dutch Elm disease bypassed this beautiful leafy hood.
@marthaross63012 жыл бұрын
Actually, it didn’t. Many trees (but not all) were lost in the early 1960’s . The leaf canopy is the summertime was amazing then. I grew up there-until1965, in the home my Great Grandfather built. (They lived down the street while the bigger home was built In the early 1920’s) The Indian Village has always been lovely I was born in Grosse Pointe and moved back there, to my other Grandparents to Graduate High School ~ after some time in Lafayette Park.

This neighborhood probably pays more in taxes to Detroit than all the neighborhoods north of them all the way to 8 mile. I'm sure the HOA is strong there and runs their own security force making it a safe no-go area from local thugs. This is an illustration of what happens to you when you go to school to learn with a clear goal and strive for it each day and not going to school for a few years to rap with your friends.

This isn’t even the richest neighborhood in Detroit.

You NEED TO 🛑 those comments are feeling pretty STALE to those of us that know better …. Its people with your mindset that escaped to the outskirts ( with Government Hand outs for ONLY YOU PEOPLE banning/redlining other from following taking YOUR POPULATION , BUSINESSES ,TAX BASE and POLITICAL POWER leaving behind only a shell of the prosperity that HAD BEEN HERE … instead of pointing fingers at the people left behind look in the mirror or at your relatives of past generations and ask them they could not stay even if they aren’t from here this SAME scenario has happened in most large cities throughout this country 🤔 And what it’s going though now looks like its time to pay for these SINS !
