The way LA sold the farm to replace him with Stafford made me think something had to be wrong with him. But after actually watching him play here, I saw he wasn’t just a bridge QB. He’s still not even 30 yet and he’s got deep playoff experience.

When that was happening and all those people were calling for Brad Holmes job for not taking Malik every time the Lions went up to announce their selection I was getting SO mad lol. Like thank f*cking god fans aren't in charge of their respective franchises. One thing I always found weird is that people actually believed that Jared Goff couldn’t throw deep balls into contested space to his x reciver yet his several to dj chark in 2022 when they had developed the chemistry and trust . Which is why I think Jameson Williams will breakout next years as by the 49ers game Jared was more willing to target Jameson deep downfield against difficult coverage

I was cautiously optimistic when we acquired Goff. My hope was that in year 2 he would have been just good enough to net a 2nd Rounder from a desperate team in a trade. By year 3 we’re chanting his name at Red Wing games. I hope he gets paid in the most cap friendly deal possible and he wins us our first Super Bowl. It has to be JG at the helm. He’s the perfect QB for this team and this city. Goff to Jamo will terrify the NFL this year.

I think its crazy how the media what's to associate arm strength with arm talent. Goff was the highest rated QB on tight window throws with a yard or less of separation. Goff's arm talent is as good as anyone in the NFL.

I really appreciate these break downs. It helps educate this fan, and I’m beginning to understand more clearly what a huge chess game with living, moving pieces an NFL game is. I’ve been a very loyal fan since the Eric Hipple years but in those decades there was nothing in our games that made me want to learn the inside intricacies of play. Now, however I’ve become almost obsessed with this team and am enjoying content like this that is educating me to a much deeper understanding . Thank you.

Jared is a Lion, it's a perfect fit. I honestly bought in on him at the end of his first year with us. Even though we lost a lot that year, I could see what it had the potential to become, and here we are. I can't wait for the upcoming season 💪🦁

I've gotten really annoyed by my fellow Lions fans calling for Goff to be benched in favor of Hooker. Some of them were calling for it nearly all season long, well before Hooker came off IR. Lions fan are fairly knowledgeable for the most part, but there's a very small, but very loud and obnoxious subset that seem to automatically despise the starting QB, no matter who it is. Luckily, Campbell & Holmes, unlike previous administrations like Matt Millen's disastrous regime, don't listen to outside talk and go with what they know will work. Apparently Millen once got talked out of drafting Demarcus Ware at the last minute, while on the clock, and took WR Mike Williams instead. No, not that Mike Williams, the other one, the bust out of USC. Okay, I'm already way off topic, so I'm gonna stop. Great video as always, very much appreciated. Oh, and I can't wait for the Lions and Ravens to play in the Superdome, a little less than a year from now.

I think part of it is just uninformed fantasy football fans. They saw Tennessee highlights from 2022 and heard Hooker can run so in their mind he’s Lamar Jackson. Millen’s drafts made Bob Quinn’s look competent. There was no plan ever.

I'm glad I only saw the bad Goff only a couple times this year...where he's under pressure, so he panics, does a half spin, and tries to throw it away, usually ending in a sack, fumble, INT, or Intentional Grounding. He was horrible about it in 2021, but Coaches Dan Campbell and Mark Brunell (not to mention great play from the OLine and other teammates) have got him working like a confident commander on the field now.💪🦁💙

Ngl, that first year with Goff was pretty rocky. Looking back it’s clear to see he simply lacked a supporting cast. Dude is competitive, clutch & decisive af!! When he throws it I don’t even question it, I know he’s making the best possible choice given the situations.

Always loved the trade for Geoff. Stafford was great, but I always felt he had to throw so our run game always suffered. I thought we were getting an ok QB and a haul in the draft, but we got really good QB and the picks!! I can see giving him a 2-3 year deal. But if Hooker is what they thought he would be, I can see them trading him for some picks as soon as O coordinator leaves.

The only bad thing about Goff is that he can’t run. We can win with Goff but we need more great talent around him across the board to make this work. Just need some more pieces to the puzzle mainly defensively.
