@@ly_775 they use automatics, but most still don't use torque converters. It's automated manual transmission. It uses the air system to modulate the clutch and to shift gears. So if you release the brakes on most the truck won't move, you have to press the gas pedal and wait for the clutch to engage.

@@ly_775 No - pretty much the only trucks (European) you'll find with torque converters are shunters (i.e. Terberg), garbage trucks and specialized applications. I've driven almost every modern EU truck and not a single one had a torque converter.

I don't think the truck's weight was the limit but the fact that you didn't lock the rear diffs like you did with the interaxle transfer case.

With peak torque at +-1700 rpm and peak power at 2000 rpm, I think that truck is able to deal with at least 50% extra trailer weight. If the cabin can hold it of course

It's not absolutely true, since the graph shows the torque and Power at Engine, and that is actually multiplied by the gears, so in theory the lower Power/torque in the lower gear and higher RPM can be better than higher Power/torque in engine but lower torque multiplication.

There is a mod of a trailer with adjustable weight. Use manual transmission. Use arcade mode to launch and then put it back to manual. It will works nice.

i find it amusing that it took a computer generated 2 stroke detroit to be the first one that could respectfully pull a hill.in my neck of the woods even a 430 hp 8v92 you had to be on the low side of the trans to keep the rpms above 1500.with a 9 speed & 4.10 rears.where cats & cummins could do it on the high side of the trans with simalar trans & rears.

Well if only the tranny lets the engine operates at around 2200 rpm at full throttle, the engine would've pull the load much easier since the power peaks at around that range

the torque converter is not set properly for that power, see in the graph how the RPMs are over peak performance of the engine, so you are only using around 1800hp out of your 2672hp, the stall of the torque converter needs to be a lot higher for that power
