I want to cry, deus ex has a special place in my heart
@Daurentius3222 жыл бұрын
Totally feel you friend, I was introduced to the original Deus Ex when I was 12, back when it released in the year 2000, fast forward to today and here I am, 32 years old, self employed as an IT specialist and I carry Deus Ex as the closest game to my heart, I have played them all and despite the rocky conclusion of Mankind Divided I sincerely hope that the new IP holder ( can't recall their name, had a long day lol ) will heed the high esteem fans like us have for this IP and not succumb to corporate greediness that causes a vehement disconnection from the fanbase which results in a shift of priorities, from making a great game to making as much profit for as little work possible. That is why MD failed, it failed because Square Enix's focus was solely set on profits, instead of making a game that will draw in the huge fanbase and perhaps even expand it, they underestimated how stiff our necks become when we sense guile and sadly enough, instead of this being a wakeup call for Square Enix to set their priorities back to what they were with Human Revolution, they projected the failure on us and as they say, the rest is history. Here's to the hope that the new IP holder will have a board of individuals with an average level of intellect, as this is all it takes to perceive how we, the Deus Ex fanbase, think and what makes us tick and use this perception of what we consider a good game ( Think Deus Ex and Human Revolution ) and use it to their advantage as it will result in a lot of purchases of the game, we have to believe in them and hey, until proven otherwise there is no reason to doubt them, right?

@@Daurentius322 100% facts, i really hope they make a new deus ex game and it would be better if adam jensen is in it. i gifted 3 copies of human revolution on steam to my friends just to let the devs know that this game is still the best. it had a far cry and assassins creed series potential. i hope deus ex returns, i really do.
@Daurentius3222 жыл бұрын
@@Acevern Well stated and see that is what I mean with this fanbase being so different, people buying copies for their friends as a token of support to the devs. Let's see what the Resolver Group ( just woke up so my mind is working again, lol) does in the upcoming years, maybe if we have any luck they may already possess a platform to start from as I recall leaked information from a very reputable source from inside Square Enix that had leaked details multiple times that eventually checked out to the point that the person had an accuracy of 90% in his or her leaked information and this individual had stated that there was already a half finished game after MD, so with a bit of luck we won't have to wait ten years before we finally get something.

Oh absolutely friend, from the very first moment I heard this song it drew me in and together with The Mole it always draws me back to listening to them and, as you so beautifully stated, they allow me to relax and think of my life and even during work it allows me to focus and be sharp, when I need to troubleshoot issues in my role as an Enterprise Administrator these two tracks just dial me into Superman mode like no other tracks, they are truly amazing and a testimony to the unmatched skill and talent Michael McCann possesses.

Music is an ancient form of inspiration. It was true thousands of years ago, and it's still true today. This particular track from the game is interesting. While some of the notes bring desperation to my mind, others sound like hope and determination. I'm glad this music helped you through, friend. Good luck out there.

The thing that's so shocking to me is for such an iconic, unique, memorable and downright beautiful track, it has no actual name. It's just Deus Ex Human Revolution Main Menu theme. It deserves a name. Michael McCann get back here and name it you -,-

Sometimes I call it "Sarif Industries" because it will play when in the building in the earlier levels.

If I were McCann, I'd call it something like Hope Under Fire (although I think that name has been used by something else). This track has always sounded to me like desperation and tribulation mixed with hope, determination, and a sense of purpose.

@@danielkover7157 Wow you're actually right. I felt that too but haven't thought much about it until now. It gives motivation too, to struggle through the hardship. Like you said, determination. And the things ahead of you will be exciting too, that's what the track promises

I remember seeing someone playing this game out of the corner of my eye in 2012, and from what little I saw made me think it would be like Rainbow Six Vegas. I impulsively bought it when I was next at a game store...and then didn't touch it for almost ten years. When my ex-wife moved out, I was alone, and I decided to pop it in to finally give it a go and get my mind off of the divorce. I was first greeted with this theme, and I immediately had an idea of what the tone of this game would be: dark, sad, and mysterious. Admittedly, I came close to writing this game off when I almost got cornered in the FEMA facility where I thought I had no stealth options to pass an area...but I remembered I could move objects, tried making a crude staircase out of cardboard boxes...and it worked! Suddenly I had a second wind, a newfound love and respect for the game's versatility. I played this and Mankind Divided four times each, trying to get as many achievements as I could and see all the different dialogue options. Deus Ex has become a low key favorite franchise of mine, and it all started with this song.

I wanna share something with you of what happens when I listen to this track. I get into meditation, and listen. The body starts to vibrate and I get goosebumps, it makes me forget my identity for a minute or two. I enter total emptiness, and the body feels like it has electricity flowing through it. I use it as a meditation music, it gives me one hell of an experience. Never had anything like this happen in any of the tracks I have listened before. It’s like it pulls me in by force and gives me a purpose not to give up in my life’s journey. The longer I listen the stronger “electric feeling” becomes. The only thing I know is that I become serious after this. Don’t know what it is about this track, but it shakes my core, gets deep within my soul. I become a totally different person. Best track ever.
