I don't think you can really call it an "Invisible War" if the entire city of Chicago was destroyed.

This intro showed that Invisible War would have had potential to be a great sequel to Deus Ex. A shame that the end result fell short thanks to being forced to be made for consoles back in the day. I still wish that we got to learn more about this "nanite detonator" that petrified the unnamed terrorist and almost everyone in Chicago before destroying the city itself. Why didn't the villains in this game try using it to destroy JC Denton during the endgame? All theories are welcome. Invisible War was short and had almost every feature from the first game nerfed tremendously, but it tried its best to tell a good story and give an end to one of the franchise's story arcs. At least the graphics still look good by today's standards and the voice acting is better this time around. I wish that this game will one day be remade for new and old audiences. Some trivia? Voice actors Chris Sabat and Laura Bailey voiced male and female Alex D respectively.

2:22 I always liked the way Billie Adams is completely unconcerned here - all hell has broken loose, the city is being electronically incinerated all around and she's as calm as a daisy. The way she then turns and uses her leg augmentations to leap up into the chopper - badass in its own way!!

This intro really blew me away back in, what was it, 2004? Got the demo with an Xbox magazine. Still pretty captivating, the presentation of these games was miles ahead of most of the competition. Quite enjoyed the game itself, other than the terrible ammo system. Not a great continuation of the classic Deus Ex, but a pretty good game nonetheless.

The story is actually very good but this game is seriously hampered by a god-awful interface and by being designed from the ground up for consoles. You can see the pressures of having to work within a limited memory budget throughout this game: models get reused, limited animations, tight, cramped levels and "Universal Ammo" which was really just an excuse to save memory by not having to design ammo meshes and textures. The PC version feels like a really bad console port.
@cr4yv3n9 жыл бұрын
Catzilla The twisting circles/animation is kinda awesome tho :D
@caav568 жыл бұрын
The universal ammo does make sense in-universe - it's a time of a damn nanotech everywhere, so, why would we need old cartridges, when we can load basic propellant matter in one chamber, basic projectile matter in the second and the weapon itself will assemble it into what it needs to fire at enemy and what it needs to propel freshly-created projectile. About other complaints - yes, goddamn consoles.

Well said sir, completely agree. What I am hoping formis, after all the wonderful moding thst was taken place for the original Deus Ex game, especially with Shifter, Biomod, and The great REVISION, that they will soon turn the attention and focus over to Invisible War and start moding the hell out of that game to fix it and make it better.

Vivianlives Here is what you need to do to fix the loading screen freeze problem: First of all you need to buy or find the gog.com version of Invisible War because this version is much better than other DVD/CD versions that out on the market today (it also works officially on windows 7 and 8). This version deals with lock-ups BUT does not completely eliminate the problem. I played the gog.com version of IW and did not have freezes in the load game menu. I was able to finish the game but I got constant crashes to the desktop. That part gog.com didn't fix. However, when I tried to play the game from the beginning after my first playthrough I did come across a lock-up while trying to load a saved game. The way I got over that was by uninstalling Invisible War without deleting my saved games.I did use a special uninstaller program I have which is not free just to make sure IW was completely removed from my PC (The program is called "Uninstall Tool"). You can use a free uninstaller such as Revo Uninstaller to completely remove the game from your system. Then reinstall and the freeze should be gone. Here is how to prevent the game from ever freezing again: Each and every time you want to play IW you must first close ALL running programs and applications such as Skype, Web browsers and anything that uses your PC's hardware. Check out this link steamcommunity.com/app/6920/discussions/0/846959520886850955/. Also close all windows 7 gadgets. I hope this helps you out HyperCannonz09. I did enjoy the game a lot despite the many problems I had to overcome on the PC version. I have read on-line that it is a very bad port from the Xbox to the PC, that's why it is so messed up :( If you need more help please let me know by replying to this message. I'll definitely respond ASAP.

If the creator would read this, your game I found to be the top fps cyborg political-assasination-themed thriller could not get into the first one but this hit nails and the confined world gave more tension and mystery to the intrigues we end up on as the story progresses. If a sequel becomes possible, please make it more like IW rather than the first. More open but with the same isolated sense of corruption and moral ambiguity to the plot.

I chose to merge with Helios in DX1 but I didn't like the ending back then because it was very dark. I liked Tracer Tong's ending much more. I chose to help JC, Paul and Helios in DX2 once again but this time I was very happy with the ending which was more promising for the future and did not have the complications of the DX1 unstable merger. I was very satisfied by the story of DX2 and I think it is a great sequel despite the crashes and serious stability problems of the game.

What screen resolution did you use for the recording of this video? I took my screenshots in 1280X1024 because my monitor is old and small (17 inches). I am happy with my LG monitor because it has sharp image quality, it is reliable and looks very nice. It will serve me for many years to come.
