But now you voluntarily carry the “chip” with you because it has a screen;) And you can even send your unmoderated thoughts all across the world with it;) If you still don’t get it: If the Bildergerg group was really one of the parties “controlling the world”, your reaction mentioning their name would have been censored. Remember La-Le-Lu-Li-Lo? The world is run by the creators of this world. In case you didn’t notice; politics are always laging behind. Yes, I think there's definitely the air of control-freaky hubris in how he sees things. And it's a ridiculous idea that trans-humanism would be necessary to reach higher states of consciousness. As those people who actually reach those states typically say - to reach them nothing special needs to be added, rather obstacles (clinging, misconceptions, beliefs etc) just need to be let go. Like one chapter of Tao Te Ching says: "In pursuit of knowledge, every day something is added. In the practice of the Tao, every day something is dropped. Less and less do you need to force things, until finally you arrive at non-action. When nothing is done, nothing is left undone. True mastery can be gained by letting things go their own way. It can't be gained by interfering." And, to go on a bit of a different direction about "states of consciousness" - if by consciousness we mean that empty contentless reception that is taking everything in, there are no "states of consciousness". I.e. consciousness is the most foundational aspect of experience - all experience (including the whole world, including all people (and this one "closest" to the screen that I think of as "me"), including all thoughts and perceptions, including all these "states of consciousness" which I'd call states of mind) is just perception in consciousness, "on the screen" of consciousness. Where consciousness is in itself the most fundamental "screen" for everything. Ah, well that was a bit of a tangent, haha. Coming back to more "mundane" aspects, I think the human biological is a beautiful, amazingly "designed" organism, I think it's extreme hubris to think that we can "improve" it with our shoddy tinkering, considering that there's no reason to assume that we can ever understand it. And so far our attempts have been pretty bad - like Aldous Huxley said: “Medical science has made such fantastic progress that there are barely any healthy people left".

@@JohnDoe-ys1vb Yes right, because workers (especially non-unionised workers) and employers (especially billionaires and multi-billion dollar corporations) totally have equal power in their relationship. You really think his "arrest only me" line was anything other a narcissistic PR stunt (as are 90% of the shit he pulls)? 17:26 "...To submit to regulation" "Otherwise the technology could be wielded by the wrong wrong people such as our government." Yes, let the government regulate AI, so that the government can't use AI.

I think it’s funny that we are all so unsatisfied with our reality that we’re willing to go to such insane and abstract lengths to change it rather than to simply bear the burden and fix it. AI will not solve this world’s problems, it will only create new ones.

How would you fix the problem, the burden, of misinformation?
@jettgroves64244 жыл бұрын
Max Derrat to put it simply, I wouldn’t. Not every problems needs a definitive radical solution. Instead, I think simply teaching people to think for themselves and encouraging individualism is the best way forward.

sai sameer I haven’t played the game so idk about that. From what I’ve seen about this ending though, it’s not quite what I’m getting at. I’m not saying we need to go all Unabomber and eliminate all communications. I’m more suggesting that we need to simply learn to sift through the misinformation and think about it critically.
@danboltmaker57053 жыл бұрын
The first and easiest thing you can do to fix the problem of misinformation is to turn the TV off and stop listening to the news and politians. I'm not taking a side here with Fox or CNN, they are all liars. Let your mind decide with free thought. However that creates a new problem. My thoughts are right and your are wrong. I would rather use free thought and be wrong than to blindly follow anything.

I have alternative theory for why musk wants AI regulation. His large company can bear the burden of regulation. However, startups cannot. Thus regulation would prevent competition from challenging his company.

I think the Christ figure in "JC" Denton was very well handled amidst all the other themes, Sheldon nailed it. He is the human but more than human key to solving the transcendent AI issue, he is actually "Christ" because he was just made as a prototype, as a sacrifice, but posing "a different question with a different answer" as the AI says, so its own sacrifice will be different but the same as good old Jesus Christ redeems believers from all forms of sinful bondage and oppression through his death and resurrection, reconciling god with our pain and making people aware of their own persecution . The organizations that come from Simmons and Page are very obviously the "Anti Christ" persecuting others in the name of the "victims" and world stability when we all know they just want God like power. I think the merge ending is the best possible result because JC will give the AI the perspective it needs to truly understand humanity and evolve it, without dissolving it completely. But this last bit is just my mind canon.

Part of the reason I'm kinda glad i didn't have a PC growing up was because eventually I finally did get my very first computer ever well into my 30's and I could go and try these old games without nostalgia. Deus Ex, especially with the revision mod, is hands down my favorite game of all time. I've played and beaten it more times than I can count. Sometimes I would finish the game and immediately restart it and appreciate the scale to which the game expands.

2:00 in 2015 there was an article in a major science publication talking about the moral and ethical implications of humans specifically modifying and engineering bat coronaviruses, one of the WHO labs is in Wuhan China, and the man who identified the HIV virus claimed Cov19 was definitely modified/engineered. Kind of gonna defer to the experts here. There’s also the anecdotal evidence that suggests it was here far sooner than we thought. I went down for 2 weeks with the worst illness of my adult life in January 2020 and testing could not identify the culprit as bacterial or any of the known Flu variants. Believe what you will about the official narrative but why would a power structure that has consistently lied to a misled the public for longer than I have been alive start telling the truth now?

@maxderrat Жыл бұрын
I understand not liking Musk. At the moment, I don't have a positive opinion about him personally, aside from stuff that is relatively difficult to condemn (like providing Internet to the Ukrainians). That said, I don't think it's necessary to condemn a whole video on account of that one element. Maybe that moment aged like fine milk, but I don't think it poisons the quality of the whole video (or poisons the underlying point I am trying to make). I mean, look at your screen name. I'm guessing you like Ender's Game? How do you feel about Orson Scott Card's views on gay people? Does that poison the quality of the books?

Right, this thing about "misinformation" is nowhere to be found in the game. In fact in Deus Ex, misinformation is usually intentionally perpetuated by the entities wanting to hide their actions, like UNATCO and MJ12. Conspiracy theories are the thing that turns out to be true.
@visatapani4 жыл бұрын
Yes, both in the game and in reality. And that whole line of thought was weird and propagandist both with relation to the game and reality. Of course there's a lot of misinformation everywhere, but it has become quite clear that the elite-controlled mainstream media is the biggest facilitator of it. And the MSM is so unanimous in its viewpoints that it's clear that a lot of it is coordinated. The control-freaky oligarch elite ("illuminati" in the game) is not worried about "misinformation", it's worried about true information. In fact the controlling elite uses misinformation to control people, and its biggest threat is that people learn too much truth. Here's an example of co-ordinated brainwashing from the mainstream media from the real world: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIangWmbarNsndk ('This is what mind control looks like. This is Operation Mockingbird' - if it gets taken down, you can probably find it with that phrase or with 'this is extremely dangerous to our democracy', if not on youtube, on Bitchute or LBRY etc).
