Deus Ex - Storyline Summary (Game Plot Dialogue)

(Ahead of time, if you have never played the game and don't want any spoilers turn the video off now and go play the game before you see this video! The game is much more in-depth than what I have in this 30 minute video.)
Basically this video is a mashup of all the key dialogue in the game that I thought was of value that could fit into about thirty minutes. I figured with the prequel of the game coming out in a few months many people would be interested at taking another look at the original storyline to prepare for it.
The game has at least 5-8 hours of dialogue total, so I am sure I missed a few things that some would like to see in there. My original video came out to about an hour and a half, but I didn't think very many people would want to sit through a feature length Deus Ex movie so I cut the video down significantly.
Now with regards to the ending of the game, let me say this upfront I did not choose to go with the Deus Ex 2: Invisible War ending where JC decides to merge with the AI. I really was not impressed with the second game because it seemed to lack depth in gameplay, and the storyline felt shallow and unrealistic. In my opinion, they would have done much better to stick with the ending I chose or the Illuminati ending. Both of those would have made the game much more interesting instead of making JC an insane ai/human that wanted to be dictator of the world. Don't get me started on the Templars or the Omar.
In the coming days or weeks I will upload also the playthrough of the game that I had to do in order to get all of these clips.

pps. I know the audio is slightly out of sync towards the end, but it is the best i could do. I had to reupload this about 4 times before youtube got even close to the sync that the video is supposed to be. This one I switch from MP3 to Nero AAC. Go figure why that got closer than mp3.

yet very few games look at Deus Ex as inspiration, everything is al about kiling untold enemies in a nameless pointless war and jumping from war to war old wars, current wars, old wars,current wars over and over again or stealth games that lack any real stealth to em....RPG's that lack any real role playing aspect or control over the world or a story that's laser focused like this, DX was pretty broad in what it covers but the basic narrative is laser focused, the side stuff turns it into more of a living world....anymore i can tell GTA is fake, yet the gen 6 GTA felt more real..... modern games lack the kind of quality we were seeing in gen 5 and gen 6.....sad really

I think I'm cursed. I played this game last year and made it to the graveyard, but I got malware and had to wipe my hard drive. Now, I replayed it and made it to the graveyard again, but Steam noticed that my games files didn't match what they were apparently supposed to resemble and deleted most of my save files. Thank you for making this video so I could at least experience the game one way or another.

Deus Ex is a good example of The Hero's Journey. 1. Call to Adventure: Liberty Island, JC Denton is tasked with recovering the Ambrosia, a limited cure for the Grey Death. 2. Training: UNATCO facilities on Liberty Island. Mentors: Alex Jacobson, Sam Carter, Jaime Reyes Magical Aid: Nano-augmentations. 3. Crossing the Threshold: JC acquires the Ambrosia in New York. Paul's disloyalty is revealed. JC meets Juan Lebedev. 4. Road of Trials: Paul sends JC to discover for himself the truth of the UNATCO/MJ12 conspiracy. JC is declared a traitor, captured, and sentenced to death. 5. Belly of the Whale: Daedalus contacts JC, aids him in an escape from the MJ12 prison. JC goes to Hong Kong to meet Trancer Tong to have the kill switch deactivated. 6. Seduction: Tong sends JC to find the Illuminati leader Morgan Everette. The Illuminati remnants try to gain JC's sympathy and make an alliance. Icarus begins to contact JC, taunting him. 7. It also makes it the best choice for me, making a world governed by an entity which is capable of understanding each human as an individual, overcome the limitations of human governorship, have no agenda and be capable of making decisions based on complete and total knowledge, observation and understanding. In short: a true God. Not to rule, but to serve, protect and further humanity.

Though I do have a complete version somewhere in DVD video format somewhere in the house, but I don't know where it is, and also I think the audio was out of sync completely. That was the most difficult part of this because what was in sync in parts was badly out of sync when combined.

I played this game when it came out. I am 27 years old now. I remember barely anything about the game. And for some reason, I didn't appreciate it for what it was.I supposed at that time, games had lots of heart, soul, and creativity. At the time, we had been playing games that had variety, and ingenuity. In 2000 we got Deus Ex, Baldurs Gate 2, Counterstrike, Thief 2, Diablo 2, Red Alert 2, and Mech Warrior 4. Paving the way for what garbage the game industry makes today, save for a few gems.

This game seriously need a reboot. A proper remaster with new voice actors, adjusted script etc. It was phenomenal when it came out but if it were to be released today it needs to be reworked properly. If this could be done it would be an absolute masterpiece.
