Deuter Giga Pack! Solid City/ Urban Everyday Carry EDC Backpack? EL & Bike Review

Thanks for watching.. In this video I review the Deuter Giga Pack. Deuter is a German company with a long history of making great backpack mostly for the European consumer. Deuter also makes the Giga Bike and Giga EL which are a specifically designed for the bike commuter and taller people.

Hey George, your welcome. Nice review! I'm glad you liked that Deuter backpack and its nice that you mentioned my recommendation. :D I have Deuter Giga EL for about 3 years now (with similarities to your bike version but with older design and in EL version), i use it everyday and its amazing, almost no sign of wear. I don't recall any other backpack with this kind of thick padding. Its one of the three main features that sold me in comparison to to other packs. The other two are its super lightness and EL version. The only con for me is that the side bottle pocket cannot hold my big glass water bottle (bigger than yours) but nothing is perfect, i just put the bottle inside the backpack and despite that its still my favorite pack. The Deuter Giga is a great backpack. Tge design is minimalistic, considering it’s capacity (28L). It can take a lot of stuff and still not look too bulky. The form factor makes it a great option for all kinds of daily commuters, which is not the case with e.g the Borealis backpack which in general is too sporty for my taste and can’t use it everywhere because of that. Overall I was quite impressed by the Deuter Giga and do recommend it to all Urban commuters and outdoor enthusiasts.

What luck! Even though this video is from last year, I've currently been trying to find a new bag for my work and grad school commute! I was having a hard time deciding between the women's or men's version of the giga 28 L, but after watching this video you really helped me in deciding to go with the version you have in this video. Good job!! I have a Deuter backpack for trecking in the Alps. A very good product. Now I am looking for a every day backpack for my 17 " computer which I can also use for one day trecking. This one looks very good, especially the EL version.

If you need one for 17" laptop, go for Deuter Gigant ! Very similar to Giga except the Size!

Hi, nice review. Deuter backpacks are cool. I'm glad to see that they get some attention in the USA. I've been using mine for about twelve years and I'd still be using it if I hadn't abused it by putting it into the washing machine once a year. Now I have an Osprey, which is also cool, especially the organizer pockets, but all in all I think the Deuter is the better backpack. The straps are better, they're better padded and when I carry the backpack on only one shoulder the strap didn't slide down from my shoulder as easily as the Osprey does. Also with the Osprey the straps often relocate and I have to adjust them quite often, which never happened with the Deuter. The Deuter's air system is much better, and I also like that the bottom is reinforced and padded. My dream backpack would be the Deuter with the Osprey's organizer system.

hi George, I'm using the Osprey Quasar with 28l for two years now, before I had the Deuter Giga Office Pro, which is a slightly bigger model than the current Giga, I think it corresponds to the current Gigant. I don't know if Deuter backpacks of today still have the same amazing quality, haven't heard any complaints though, they're very popular here in Germany. Greetings from Hamburg ✌
