1:13 actually most of the fandom still likes Scott just a couple of people get pissy on twitter sometimes. Scott is really connected to the fandom there's a reason the Living TombStone was the end credits.

I knew going in that it wasn’t going to show much in terms of the violence that has occurred at the pizzeria, but god forbid it has the spooky tension of the games. I can only imagine someone being exposed to FNaF for the first time via the movie and the trauma they go through having to play the games and not have the animatronics as wholesome sleepover buddies.

so i feel stupid AF - i didn't connect that the work counselor was the guy in the rabbit costume. I figured he was connected in some way, but since we only saw him at the beginning, i didn't make the connection. Also, i thought it would have been funny if vanessa was his brother

Hm? Golden Freddy is the blonde boy. He attacks the aunt. He also teleports cause THAT animatronic is not really there. Golden Freddy is known as ghost animatronic

I quite enjoyed the movie as I had really low expectations. The tone was inconsistent at times and of course it wasn’t going to be too gory for a PG-13 rating. Still, overall I had a good time and look forward to the sequels.

I liked it, though it had a lot of glaring issues. They all seemed to have culminated in the climax: SPOILERS I understood Vanessa being secretive about her father (fear and family bonds and whatnot) but she turned and supported Mike too quickly. The tasers changed the movie from a survival horror into a thrill shooter. Maybe if the climax had more focus in the security office, it would have been cooler. The picture has to be the lamest way I’ve seen a movie change. It’s “Save Martha” bad. Though I will admit the sound effects added in were pretty funny. Springtrap in general made no sense. In the movie, he controlled the animatronics through the suit, but decided to leave in the springlocks for seemingly no reason. At least in the games, he hid in it out of desperation and forgot about the springlocks by then. William kidnapping Mike’s brother made some sense, but how did he remember that. How did he look at a 25 year old man and say, “didn’t I kill your brother a decade ago?” Vanessa might have told him, but that doesn’t seem like her character either. All in all, I can excuse a lot of things. The animatronics being more friendly was alright since you knew they were sadistic if they wanted to. But the climax had way too many plotholes and poor choices of writing.

The fact the his brother was kidnapped while they were camping (even if they live in Nebraska and weren’t there for vacation it’s a big state) then 15 years later uses a career counselor who happens to be the kidnapper that he’s been searching for, who also happens to be the creator of freddy…. Oh AND he somehow got his daughter into a position that helps immensely with keeping the secret. Wayyyyyyyy too coincidental for me. Also how does he go from being alone and defenseless against the fox, to safely with the cop but “badly injured”. Just blatantly ignoring the danger you put your own character in.

Yeah, Golden Freddy was the one who brought Abby to the pizzeria on the fifth night. I think he was also the spirit that Mike talked to the most.

Also saw this on Halloween (and bumped into a friend from uni as well), but definitely not a movie I'll be rewatching for future Halloweens. For me, it was a 5/10 lump of mediocrity, really dragged too much, uninteresting and clunkily written characters with a bland story though the acting was decent, but the designs of the animatronics and set impressed me and the opening scene set it up really well, just wish the movie had more scenes like that and was scarier. I think Scott Cawthon had better stick to video games and let other people write movies, even ones based on his own games...

Scott had up a Reddit post a year or two ago discussing the production problems of the movie. He described about a dozen scripts that were rejected, most were written by the studio and were ridiculous (like one where the US government was secretly developing the animatronics as a project to turn them into soldiers in a lab underneath the pizzeria). Scott wrote some scripts himself, that he also ended rejecting himself because he wasn't satisfied with them. He said repeatedly he knows he's not a good writer. It really does show in the end result of the movie, I think at a certain point he just wanted to get the movie made and slipped his standards. Things been in production hell for eight years, and he knows its his fault it took this long
