Hey Drift, just saying thanks for helping out in your tutorials. I am almost done with a rpg maker game that I work on since 3 years in the shadows, since I fell sick and I had nothing else to do, stuck home. My game is reaching about 120 hours of gameplay, it's including many minigames like fishing, crafting, mining, chopping wood, harvesting, cooking, blacksmithing, building your shack/house even villages or castles, casino games, sailing and ship battles, with a ship crew, hire sailors and crew morale with a captain and officers. You have a fleet of up to 5 ships, make ship upgrades, change cannons, buy new ships and commerce stuff like in New Horizon, also kingdom actions, conquer other kingdoms, and army battles like Shining Force but you gotta sit a new king, which character will it be? Split your characters into 3 teams to roam arround the world, be at 3 different places simultaneously, so you don't have to navigate 100 times the same places. Kingdom messenger crows make characters communicate, and allowes you to control your war actions from anywhere in the World. Upgrade your kingdom, defense, agriculture, and loyalty, visit your cities and build more, collect a tax or own your own shops. This is all aside the main Atb system for traveling on world map with your selected favorite heroes amongst 40+ characters. Any forest or mountain can be entered and once fully discovered you can walk over it on world map and still get fights from within, with same background. They each have a campsite and you then have the option to dress a camp since battle during the night are quite extreme. Learn skills and train during your rest, to level up and save game! But you gotta find the campsite first... or reach next village's INN and do all that in your hotel room, or once back home. Weather debuff effects like soaked, cold, heat, darkness, windy, and also overloaded, exausted, hungry, thirsty. I took off magic, so now instead of mage warrior priest, you get classes like Archer Barbarian Knight, Monk, Assassin, even Scholar or Chemist (yes we craft potions) and some side classes like Sailor, Pirate, Cartographer. My class system is complex with ranks from 1 to 5, a specialized Barbarian may go further down same path to become a Berserker and end up with Titan Slayer, or could swap for another branch like Sailor then go Pirate, or Theif then go Assassin or Spy, whatever the player wants his stats and skills to look like, since they always keep what they learned as they progress. For example 66 character could be Barbarian 20, Berserker 12, Swashbuckler 20, Privateer 14, then once he reaches 20 on one of the rank 2 classes, he unlocks the rank 3 branch with choices depending on if he did find that specific class trainer (secret hidden classes as well). Barbarian class is good for strenght and endurance, and heavy weapons, while the pirate branch will make it easier to manage a ship crew, a fleet eventually and will ease the navigation, it also unlocks an interesting set of skills. So you can choose a character as your ship captain and let him sit there, other characters as land travelers and some as war commanders to get increased army stats in the kingdom war battles and management. Classes available are also based on a good/evil precepts which depends on your choices in their storylines. A Theif could become an Assassin(evil) or a Spy(good). Once reaching the end game which caps at level 99, players can then choose to reset and rewrite their history once inside the moon, which turns out to not be what we though it is, but a time vessel and the watchers observatory. A story based on our ancient gods as they were the fallen angels, and nephilim/titan mythologies from all around the world. We are the heroes of The Maker but we don't know it until the end game, fighting against demons and fallen angel's plots. First created animals are huge, like prehistoric creatures, and have eternal life under a spirit form, they offer their powers to some main characters to assist them in your epic journey. For instance the main character is a Chosen of the Primal Wolf. There is also an archeologist character which tells us a lot about the past, her story makes us link the dots as she makes new discoveries. The game also has standard day and night system, weeks, months, years and so much more. I made a story which is twisting conspiracy theories, flipping our reality into what it could be like if conspiracies were true. Players start in a viking like world where everything is strange and not acording to our history, once players get into the north pole and go across the cavern of fate, arround level 70, they then enter the inner circle world which is The Earth as we know it, but in a post apocalyptic ice age that happened in year 2041. Oceans went up 120 meters and a thick ice crust is covering the whole world's oceans. Super AI took control of what was left of humanity, since a bunker-like submarine base called The Arch, operated by that ultra AI, was activated to rebuild the world. But it turned out against humans and few survivors left in antartica or underground bases are struggling to take back their world. (This is the end game scenario where you can always go back to the moon and still manage your kingdoms and control wars on the outer world using the characters that stayed home, each turn is using a week for the wars system). I found the flat earth model interesting to flip out as this conspiracy turned out to be true so my in game system has 2 suns, 4 moons (1 inner moon and sun, and 3 outside moons and 2nd sun). Inner world humans always see the same side of the moon when the outside world "viking-aztech like people" always see the back side of it. Anyways my game will probably never sell since I don't have the money to buy music or the time to make my own, that would take me too much time to learn and produce, and I already made a lot of my own graphics using a draw tablet and my art skills from college since I studied in arts and programming, going to Unity next I just wanted to overkill a rpg maker project first. But yeah I felt like I achieved my youth's dream of making my own video game, it all started with a Driftwood video, so thanks again. I'd like to send you a demo or something when it's done, I should be done with it in 2024, still have to work on the inner world since guns and androids were a huge turn arround in my story, guns can be equiped as shields for extra damage, or using both hands like snipers and machine guns. What is interesting is since they are so much stronger weapons, it fits with the game timeline since a normal sword can't outmatch guns but endgame swords and skills will. Let me know where I can send it if you're interested to try it out. The game does not look like a rpg maker game, well rpg maker pros could tell, but not an ordinary new player. It kinda ressemble to Sea of Stars, but with less fluid graphics and no diagonal movement, battles of 4 characters with front and back rows (the front scout team fights, as other characters travel with you and can be swapped once out of combat). Players can still interract with anything they come across kinda like Zelda but without the fighting. Wash your face, peek on a window, check a map, read books, check drawers, pick cherries, chop a tree, etc etc... I also added a ton of hidden backwall secrets like in FF3(6). Anyways I wish you the best with your project, just wanted to give you some mad props for this 4 years game that I made, since it all started with a Driftwood video, take care!
