7 Warlords are very different from 4 Emperors, which Shanks and Whitebeard are a part of. Warlods struck a deal with the Government, but 4 Emperors are the 4 most powerful pirates in the world. Whole Navy & 7 Warlords together are needed to face against one Emperor crew, as it was stated in this episode. They are the most fearsome pirates.

Yeah I think this is part of the reason Oda and the other LA writers felt it okay to reveal Garp early as grandpa because there still would be Dragon and even Shanks rank to reveal etc at this point.

And despite the Garp reveal being spoiled by the live action, there was another family reveal that was luckily NOT spoiled so it was still a great episode nonetheless! Shanks is like a super huge deal. Like a Yonko (one of the Four Emperors) that the Shichibukai (Seven Warlords) were formed because the World Government and Navy couldn’t handle them. Dragon, Shanks, Ace and Garp are all super big deal despite Garp being only a Vice Admiral.

Ace chooses to use his mother's surname, mostly because he doesn't want to be associated with his father. In Ace's mind, Whitebeard is his father. Blame the Live Action then again it was made as if Netflix might not let them reach post enies lobby (it's a lot of seasons to cover 3 more sagas being Alabasta, Skypeia, Water 7) I feel the impact is so much lesser in the LA due to the new audience are not yet introduced to Aokiji, an Admiral to guess how high the ranking of vice admiral or being called a Navy Hero (there just wasn't any strong Navy guys around as they skip smoker lounge town part as well) at best they just match Garp with Mihawk
