G'day Legends, I hope you're doing well,
Today we talk about the Ukrainian Offensive into Kursk and how this will change Russia's Eastern offensive and look at the war map updates.
If you're new here thanks for coming across, I served in the Australian Infantry from 2014-2021, With specialist qualifications in Heavy Weapons/Anti-Armour, Combat First Aid, With a tour to Afghanistan as a crew commander of a Armoured Mobility Vehicle.
Upon my Return I was unexpectedly diagnosed with a Incurable and Inoperable Brain tumour that is slowly killing me. I was also awarded the Queens Order of Australia Medal (OAM) hence the post nominals after my name. Then Being medically separated from the Army I flew to Ukraine in 2022 for 6.5months and now make content full time. I really appreciate you being here Thankyou

Lee's invasion of Pennsylvania 1863 led to the Battle of Gettysburg. The South was being badly pressured in the western teather by Gen Grant. Following the same idea as the the 1862 invasion which ended at Antietam Maryland (a bold attack to threaten Washington divert resources make the Union home front shake. The 1863 gamble ended bad worse than the draw that was Antietam; it led to a serious defeat and the accepted turning point of the US Civil War. First error: begin the operation while Russia is coming in Sumy and other fronts are in dire of troops, but it's nothing when compared to second error: extend both vertical and horizontal with 1000 troops, in day 3 they captured about 300-400 square kilometers which mean in average 10 soldier per 1 square kilometer if they did not taken any causalities from Russia at all, and its just not the needle piece to Russia's land but a huge chunk of area at the border. Since the number of attack force showed that they cannot defend that long and thigg size of entrance while advance ahead, which mean if Russia outflank them, they can seal the border and entire attack force will be mochi-ed and let to mercy of bombs and artilery.

If that is the case, Britain is an accomplice to the actual reason behind this war, considering that the Ukranian government started harassing its Russian civilians at that time. Taking into account how the western governments are oblivious of the lives, cultures and prosperity of their own citizens, the NWO is neither user friendly nor for the benefit of the world. On the contrary. Should westerners, and many of us do, realize how important it is that Russia wins this war against (poor proxy) Ukraine, aka NATO, they would want to go and fight for Russia. Putin banned the World Bank, GMO and a chapter of western money spinners, so he must be put in place. If the west had real leaders, this might have been easy, but with the likes of the woke bunch currently in charge, there is little chance, thank goodness. The woke rule we are living under since covid aren't so great. The world has regressed to a large extent since.

As for the Ukrainian refugees. I work at a local administration in Germany that also processes people from Ukraine. In the first months of the war, they were overwhelmingly those who have the means to travel to Germany and establish themselves (educated people, middle class, etc.). That has changed. Now the poorer, less educated and people with different challenges are coming. For example, we are seeing more cases of TBC (that was erradicated in Germany), Scabies, severe alcoholism and other serious medical conditions. These people are coming because Germany provides them with the same social security benefits like the German citizen. Those refugees are straining our resources (as the public administration with the task to house and provide for them). And they cost a lot of money. Let me be clear: Germany can provide for them and has a duty to help our fellow European neighbours who are fleeing a war. It is not a matter of money, Germany has enough of that. We can and have to spend that money. But the support is vaining and such strange incursions into Russia are fueling the discontent with further support for Ukraine. Come winter this year, we will see a mass exodus from Ukraine and THEN the grumbling in Germany will intensify even more. I feel sorry for those people, for what they have lost, for their uncertain future and the pain they are feeling. That's why I think it is much more important to end the war rather than "winning" it.

You say incursions into Russia are fueling more support for the Ukraine ,if you mean German support , then we are moving further away from peace . Sadly, I think that your fellow Europeans will not feel any real need for peace til your own children come home in body bags and without body parts . Sadly , the Ukrainians are being used as proxies .

Every ukrainian soldier who is on russian territory prays to return in ukraine in one piece. They can't say that, but deep down they know that. Because if they are not lucky to return back they know, they know their next direction will be 2m underground. In one day, one week, one month, or even one year. But, their chance of having long life, while being on russian territory is non existent in longer period. It is just psychological effect of being on russian territory and willingness of Putin to give all resources and man power to the Kursk commanders. But they are soldiers, they are young, and that means brave. And they have to follow the orders. But a moment comes when someone has to face reality. If I was russian decision maker I will keep the ukrainians there until the end of the war, I will stabilise the place and keep them and liberate that place in the last battles of the war. It is simple why. Because the ukrainians will have to keep there number of brigades, what will make the situation better for the russians on the other fronts. That makes sense from chess playing war strategy. But, Putin simply can't afford that because of the rage of the russian population. But, there is not good outcome for those soldiers who are on russian territory. They attack, but they know they are living like on a poisonous snake island. You can kill one, two, 10 snakes. But eventually you will be bitten, because it is not your island, it is snake island. 5 brigades have been sent from Doneck front to Kursk front. And two of them, brigades from Pokrovsk front. That is insanity. That is why the ukrainians in Pokrovsk are swearing at the decision makers.

The whole convoy probably held four hundred troops. They didn’t all die This video is nonsense. There’s no military science to this. Russia has used a very small fraction of its airforce in Ukraine this means that most is it is available to deal with the incursion and that’s exactly what is happening. Bellendski has sacrificed those men, probably in the hope he’ll get the nod to use his two F16s over Russian territory. There are no critical targets in the area. Zero that would have any impact. The analysis at the end of the video about Russian Red Lines, Russian responses to violations of those Red lines and the devastating impact of the war on Ukraine and how disastrous that war has been for the west was absolutely spot on. Ukraine follows the list of Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Syria and Libya of failed states left behind after intervention by Nato and their allies. And everyone one of those interventions has resulted in millions of refugees fleeing to Europe to the huge detriment of Europe. Our governments are clearly not on the side of the people they are supposed to represent and protect. Worst of all, western governments and nato have made Europe and the world a far worse and much more dangerous place and significantly weakened the west in the process.

Actually, when a chopped is flying there isn't that much down draft. A helicopter doesn't fly because it pushes air down, it flies because the blades are shaped like a wing, which creates lift. On one hand, I can understand why the Ukrainian leadership would want to do this last-ditch Hail Mary. Because if the fighting end AND they don’t control AT LEAST the February 2022 borders, they are cooked. Personally. But on the other hand, does anyone seriously believe that Ukraine taking and holding 1,000-2,000 sq. km. of empty field with the occasional small village (which is the BEST CASE scenario for this Kursk operation) will make the Russian leadership soil themselves and sue for peace? If anything, it will make them only fight harder. Furthermore, if there was any chance of the Russians willing to sign a negotiated settlement where Ukraine can still keep some territory, that chance was buried on August 5th. Inside of Russia, you have 2 main camps. The first camp wants to secure the 4 oblasts, then come to a negotiated settlement with Zelensky’s government. The second camp wants regime change in Ukraine, subsequent turning it into a puppet state. The first camp is no more thanks to the Kursk operation. Mind you, Russia conducted ONE partial mobilization in 2022. Since then, 99% of the new recruits have signed up voluntarily. This means that if they have to, they can do many more mobilizations.

I'm not sure about the term "Redline". It seams to me, that this term is widely used in the West, but I do not remember it coming for Russian officials. The most common comment that comes out of Kremlin is something along unfriendly move or action, violation of international law, serious violation of our security and almost always it is followed by we will respond accordingly. The west is always speculating and setting the Redlines for Russia and then decides if it was or nor crossed. The issue is, that the respond by Russia is not always seen in time or places that you would expect. Responding with a blunt aggression is the last thing a nuclear power would do against another nuclear power. Russia does respond, but unlike Ukraine, it doesn't have to be all out public event, and in a way this kind of response makes it more effective. In a way all this that is happening now is a failure of Russia to convey a clear respond and failure of the West to understand the severity of the consequences playing this Redline games.

Honestly what are these sources of stuff "on the ground" you provide, "MOD are half committed to this offensive" "Halfarsed attempt only" "This whole offensive will fail" For someone "on the ground" this "Source" seems to have some omnipotent knowledge of the situation that anyone would kill to have, this source must be a high ranking general! EDIT: Really, that info the source gave is subjective, unsubstantiated and totally beyond the scope of what a single soldier can know and in no way talking to us about stuff that source would actually know.

Most likely it's people in command support roles or straight up on general staff, they spend their days face to face with the top brass and know more of what's going on than all the boots represented by the little blue ticks on the map combined.
@Didacmmv
@Didacmmv Ай бұрын
@@mnk9073 Even if that's the case, I highly doubt the source is of a sound enough mind, given all the circumstances to have a comprehensive and objective view of what's going on given that privileged input, it doesn't seem like that's the case given the information given by the source. I personally can empathise with anyone frustrated and desperate in their workplace when things aren't going as planned or how they're supposed to be, it's a reality of literally **any** workplace, I can't imagine war being remotely as organized or smooth as people would expect it to be, which would cause the type of sensationlised responses given by the source. EDIT: TLDR; Whining isn't valuable information.

@@Didacmmv As a former staffer: It's not about knowing what actually is but about what happens in HQ. Top brass bickering, the reports coming in late or not at all, orders being given, taken back, given again, positions having to be corrected all the time, the factionalism with open venting at the coffee machine and especially seeing them run on little sleep, lots of cigarettes and the occasional swig from the drawer flask tells you a lot about the state of the operation.

The west destroyed itself when Labour and Unions got destroyed, the common folk lost their representation, and subsequent corporate interests beholden governments placed short term corporate financial bottom line before the interest of the population as a whole. The factories moved, and millions upon millions of skilled and motivated workers lost their jobs forever. And there was no need to train new engineers, factory floor managers, etc, etc, etc. The new Universities were built there where the new factories went, and with it the knowledge. If the lack of consideration of anything besides net profit was unintentional, well then there was gross incompetence. If it was known to cause such effects, then it was incompetence and treason.

You are talking about brain drain which isn't happening in the west. While brain drain in Europe is a worrying problem because they have higher taxes which makes it harder for startups, so businesses turn to the US, bringing their highly educated employees with them, not even including the many already established companies and banks where you can use to start businesses. Which is why there are a lot of Europeans in the United States. China does a great job by attracting foreign students, but these students are often from Africa which usually leave after graduating to start businesses in their home country. India also has a large population with very good schools, but many of them go to Canada to study for their higher education because it is cheaper and easier than the United States. The issue in recent years is not that the west is failing, but due to the success of protectionist policies. Protectionist policies like tariffs are detrimental to the working class because of the costs are ultimately passed on to the consumers, which includes the labor force. What needs to be done is erasing loopholes in our tax system, raise in corporate taxes, and unionization. Still though would you prefer China or Russia where essentially oligarchs have complete dominance and will crack down on any speak about unionization with the police or the US where you can actually push for workers' rights?

Ukraines gambit seems born out of desperation. There is zero strategic value to it. Likely, they're trying to trigger Russia into doing something hasty that NATO would call 'over the line' and lead to NATO combat troops deploying in country. Ukraine doesn't have the manpower to stage a push in the south if they're using this as a distraction to pull Russian troops north. They don't have the logistics or manpower to feasibly push anywhere of significance AND hold it for any amount of time.....at best this was just a PR move for western leaderships benefit and at worst, some idiot actually thought this was a sound strategy.

Donetsk republic commander, Alexander Khodakovsky about Kursk: "The enemy’s actions in Kursk fit well into the logic of this phase of the war: when he's knocked down, he needs to quickly raise hands & show that he's combat-ready. The day before I wrote that in one form or another we will see attempts to seize the initiative. Nevertheless, this is agony. The enemy made a big mistake. From a military point of view, the direction was optimal: in areas of constant battles, the front is cemented & it's difficult to break through. But this also works against the enemy: without being able to gain a foothold & create a layered defense, it will be impossible to maintain a bridgehead. Then what is the effect of this “action”? What have you achieved? Shown that Russia is vulnerable? To push into a specific area not involved in hostilities while losing manpower & equipment is not a miracle & doesn't speak of your potential. The real potential has long been calculated & taken into account. Will this raise the morale of those units that are suffering from our pressure? I very much doubt it... But it forced Russian society to look at the situation differently, it strengthened the just desire to break the enemy & put an end to the threat."

I know an ICC prosecutor requested Warants to be issued but cant find anything about the court actually approving the request ... this goes for the leaders of Hamas as well ... the information I can find is the The request were made by the prosecutor to issue warrants in May ... but no decision was reached since then .... This is different from Putin ... where the court actually approved the Warrant ... and as such the is an official ICC warrant on him and senior staff .... This is not the case for the Netanyahu/Israel/Hamas warants ... they are just proposed ...
