I personally like "The Day After Tomorrow" as a disaster flick - despite the politicality of it. First time I saw it (autumn, Minnesota), I was so invested in it that I didn't want to go out into the freezing, killer blizzard (autumn remember) to let my dog out - then I realized that was the movie, fer cryin' out loud.

I love your story. I reacted similarly to the Matrix. Leaving the theater in my city, my brother grabbed my arm and yanked me back from walking into oncoming traffic. My head was still in the film. Those cars can’t hurt me, they’re not real, it’s all the matrix, right?

Three more recommendation for disaster movies: 1. Dante's Peak - Pierce Brosnan & Linda Hamilton 2. Volcano - Tommy Lee Jones & Anne Heche 3. The Poseidon Adventure - Shelly Winters & Gene Hackman & Ernest Borgnine & Stella Stevens & Red Buttons & Roddy McDowall (the voice of C3PO in Star Wars Movies) - a classic from 1972. You cannot go wrong with any of these movies. If I don't see them on your channel, I made a bet to myself to create a channel and they will be the first three films I review. lol

The Rock turned out to be a great actor. I really like his tv show. I recommend watching Jumanji 1995 with Robin Williams and then the sequel Jumanji Welcome to the Jungle starring The Rock. He’s so funny in that movie.

The first "disaster" movie I ever watched was Airport - 1970. In fact I watched the sequels too. What got me hooked permanently on the genre were the movies The Towering Inferno and The Poseidon Adventure. Also both in the 70's. I've watched pretty much every one that's come out since then.

Up here in Washington, we have 5 volcanoes in 1 state. And one of them (Mt. Rainier) is 80+ years overdue for it's next eruption after St Helens. So, please be grateful for living in Iowa.

Paul Giamatti, the professor guy. He's a bad guy in Shoot Em Up. You'd like that movie. He's a good guy in Saving Mr Banks. I like that movie a lot. Has Tom Hanks as Walt Disney, Emma Thompson as the author of Mary Poppins. They're trying to make the Mary Poppins film. Archie Punjabi, the reporter was very good in the series The Good Wife. She's an investigator for a law firm.

Recently found your channel and subscribed after watching your Titanic and Cousin Vinny videos. Have over 20 of your reactions in my watch later folder but when I saw you did this movie I had to watch right away. I just love this film - no illusions it’s an Oscar worthy art film, it’s just so darn fun though - crashes, explosions, fire, water, non-stop disasters the characters shouldn’t escape from but do, Anyway, you’re fun to watch, honest and I really love when you watch comedies because your laugh makes me laugh which lightens my day. Looking forward to what you do next (and to catching up on what you’ve done this past year)

Never actually saw this movie, but I always wanted to. I am huge fan of Dwayne Johnson and the films that he makes, well for the most part. Like "Twister," this is a natural disaster film, and while I know these kinds of films are exciting to others, I just find them to be horrifying to think about due to the way our planet is going. While I realize these are exaggerated events for drama's sake, they just tend to make me overthink and worry too much. That being said, from what I have seen in your review, I might go back and watch the whole film someday.

I'm glad you liked this movie. Me, not so much. Its a derivative movie (from many other disaster movies that came before it) that had to turn the notch up (that is why its adrenaline inducing) in order to not be labeled as derivative. "2012(2009)" and "The Day After Tomorrow (2004)" were the original disaster movie that this movie copied.

I can never decide if this movie seems mediocre to me because it came out at a time when there was this trend of widespread disaster movies. Or because it's just not that great. Given The Choice I would say the Day after Tomorrow is better. The part about them divorcing because they had a child that died is tragically accurate. It's almost impossible for a marriage to survive that. Edit: Watch Radio Flyer! I know its on the list.

I had asked my grandma after watching this movie with her. She was in the Power squadron she teaches people about boating. I asked her is it possible to get over a tsunami she says yes it is possible to get over it before the wave actually forms.

So this morning I was watching James react to this movie, and it gets to a scene where characters are sailing off on a speedboat. All of a sudden, the REALLY HORRIBLE recording of someone playing the Titanic (My Heart Will Go On) theme on a recorder starts playing. I assume James put it in there for comedic relief and to cover up some sort of music, but it just keeps going for a solid minute, covering up everything he's saying. I start to wonder if there is some other audio playing on a different tab, and I see that a Twitch streamer's last Elden Ring stream that I had up on a different tab has a sound symbol on its tab. I go to that tab and hit the pause button on the auto-playing stream, and the music stops. I started cracking up because it was the perfect series of events: (1) People drive off on a boat; (2) Weird Titanic theme starts to play at that exact moment; (3) Theme won't stop and covers up James; (4) Realize it was the Twitch stream all along setting up the perfect theme at the perfect time in James' reaction video.

Thanks for the upload James! Always enjoyed this one, and most disaster movies for that matter lol, the day after tomorrow is another great disaster flick. The girl who plays Blake was also in baywatch, also with the rock lol, it's a funny one you might add it to the list, might be a good one to bring in next summer with. Don't assume you're safe in Iowa I moved to Kansas expecting tornados, didn't expect tremors on the regular for a year ending in a 5.3 before the governor of Oklahoma put limits on fracking.

Paul Giamatti starred as the Big Fat Liar and was in Saving Private Ryan. He also played John Adams. Carla Gugino was Crawl's friend in Son in Law, in Night at the Museum & the Spy Kids trilogy. San Andreas also plays a major part in Superman (1978). You live in Iowa. . . have you seen Twister (1996) yet? And how far are you from New Madrid, Mo.? Recommended disaster movies: The Poseidon Adventure (1972), Towering Inferno (1974),Airport (1970), and Earthquake (1974). I forget if you've seen Flight 93 (2006).

I havent seen this movie but I wanted to come support you and you also mentioned how the CGI was so good in this movie compared to older movies like Twister. So I wanted to see that. I guess It was visually better but I don't know how believable it was. Can't wait to see what you do next.

If you want to see moe of the Rock check out these....The Mummy Returns (2001), The Scorpion king (2002), The Game Plan (2007) its a sports comedy, Tooth Fairy (2010) a comedy, and Rampage(2018) action adventure/ scifi. I think you'll like these.

The only thing that annoys me a bit in this movie is the statement that you would feel it on the east coast. It would never happen with that magnatude of earthquake. It might register on sensative insturments on the east coast, but it would be way too weak to be felt by a human. Regardless, it's a good disaster movie.
