I cannot overestimate the importance of these videos. Mental training is probably the most overlooked thing in Western society, and it shows. We're weak, we make excuses and welcome our enemies with open arms, and we rely on drugs to handle life when it comes at us, and all because we as a society are weak-minded. I'm not mentally tough. I'll admit it. I love physical fitness so I have no problem pushing myself in the gym - I love to do it, after all - but my mind is weak and I've been on a bender with these videos to develop that strength. I can't thank you enough.

Breath Training starts at 20:00 and ends at 35:20 :) Two breath methods are explained: 1)Tactical breath method in three steps (a)belly (b)diaphragm and (d)Chest 2) Box Method in Four steps: (a) exhale (b) pause or holding (c) inhale and (d) pause or hold Note: The app name used for Box breath count is "Prana Yama Universal Breathing".

Mark Divine's philosophy and style is the best i've found from 'new age guru' types, he's legit. Thanks for the awesome episode guys.

I love the deep breathing exercises. As a musician who does this on a daily basis, I have honestly never thought to apply it to other situations. Great episode!

This is awesome. And here I am, a once-upon-a-time pulmonary nurse.....watching and learning anew about the benefits of breathing....so very many benefits! LOL love it! Such a seemingly rudimentary 'skill set'....who knew! I am newly hooked on your videos AND--ready for the lobbing of the mortars!!! In all seriousness, mad respect for you guys, so very much gratitude, and just so you know, there are gains to be secured from your training 'lessons' for females too. Big time. Learning to Man Up!...one video at a time! ;-) PS. The laughter alone does a body good! :-)

Hey guys, really enjoyed this episode, and great technique wod. Mark's insights on team building corresponded well with my research on the effect of unit identity on resilience and mental health in combat troops. Very much appreciated that you brought him back on the podcast!!

Normally I stick to the 'crossfitter episodes' but I'm glad I tuned into this one (recommended by friend). My CF buddies always tell me that I'm strong and capable of anything once I decide I can do it - I've always battled anxiety and focus in WODs and lacked belief in myself in general but I truly believe Mark D's box breathing tech will make a huge difference to how I approach everything. Definitely going to buy Mark's Warrior Yoga book. Thanks Barbell Shrugged

I'm in the same boat. I lift weights and can play two musical instruments well... only because I decided I wanted something that those things could give me. Other stuff I couldn't give two shits about. These videos are super-important.

Just got to watch this..., was looking for more info on breath control and the para-sympathetic breathing. Just the little routine Mark did with us was fantastic, I felt it. So much more of a direct approach as well, not just sort of in out/focus stuff, the 'box' breath was key too. Thanks, and thanks to Mark, for being a Seal and so freaking Warrior!
