I can only speak from an Indian standpoint here because that’s what I’m exposed to and have ground level information. These esteemed speakers seem to have not visited any of Indian cities recently, even on Wikipedia. The growth story in India is real. Is it perfect? Nope. Can it improve? Absolutely. India is growing and will continue to do better than most of Asia in the coming years and that’s something you can take to the bank. By holding on to data “gathered” by western agencies and considering that as absolute truth makes the whole conversation very irrational and illogical.

India is graduating to AI from digital revolution. Robotics. Space. India is in another league. We are catching up with China. Bangladesh is doing pretty well. No loans on them. They have peace on borders. Their military in Barack. They have only to educate their people and grow. Norther worries for them. Being rich their only dream and ambition. Pakistan dream is to lead ummah, rule India, be world leader with their nuclear weapons. Totally different ambitions of all three. India is being pushed to play a role on world stage. India is being asked to take more responsibility and leadership. India has never tried to snatch it from anyone To us our soft power is dear. To us knowledge is power. We want to lead as knowledge power. Rest is secondary

Real acheivement is the dynamism in soceity. The aspirations. And,higher aims and targets now. Future road map is clear. Very clear. We expect more fast growth and change. 5 trillion clear target. Then,8- 10 trillion. The road map till there is clear. Percapita is to be doubled. We have to go into high tech manufacturing. We have to go for fast innovation in technology. Our soceity is accepting science and technology very fast. We have a digital revolution in few years. Its gone to village level. It has been a queit revolution. Manufacturing is another revolution. Happening fast Robotics is also coming silently. India is absorbing all changes like a sponge. Nothing earth shaking. No noise. Indians have modernized in attitude. Social acceptance of inter caste, interreligion, international marriages is so high. Indians have gone global. No eyebrows go up on love marriages, foreign bahu, women in army. Children studying in foreign. Everything is just routine. Indians all over the world. Studying, doing business, living, marrying. Our airports are busy. Overflowing.

All these figures you quoted are meaningful for upper middle classes who can afford pvt education, healthcare. Under Modi: 1. Disastrous Covid handing, millions died. Economy tanked, 2nd highest drop on GDP in the world. The "growth" right now is just a catch up. 2. 800 million people habe to be fed. You are treating this as an achievement, but the reason they need govt dole is because they are unemployed. Growth in jobs has been NEGATIVE, only highly educated people get IT / service sector jobs. 3. Consolidation of economic growth in TWO family businesses. ADANI and AMBANI. Together they own vast sections of the Indian economy. All thanks to Modi's favouritism. 4. NO IMPROVEMENT in basic healthcare and school education. India continues to be at the bottom in HDI and school performance. 5.Modi WASTED the windfall of petrol price reduction in 2015-2018 in populist schemes. This money shpuld have been utilized to build better schools / hospitals/ clinics, training of teachers, doctors, nurses etc.

Economists in India have a diametrically opposite view on the newly independent country of Pakistan. Their view is that Pakistanis got the most fertile land of Punjab and Sindh / Indus. Brits had always favoured Muslims over hindus and had invested a lot in building canals. Lahore, the biggest urban centre in Punjab, was handed over to Pakistan.

You are on the wrong side of history bro Brits handed over Punjab and Kashmir to India and all the assets have been held by Indians forcefully and your first governor general was a brit ... Mountbatten did everything in his power to give the India unjustified edge...so you should thank your Brit lords because Muslims fought the war of independence and after that Brits took terrible revenge by confiscating their properties and depriving them off their valuables ....Brits are the one who established the Tata's and other non Muslim businesses....I ll give you the doubt of ignorance.. enjoy Brit slaves ...the hindus

First 44 years of India, we ran a Socialist country because of Nehru-Gandhi family congress which led us to default. Thanks only to PV Narasimha Rao (NOT Manmohan Singh), who got us out of the mess created by the Nehru-Gandhi family in the 44 years from 1947-1991. pakistan on the other hand ran a capitalist country which was willing to take its clothes off and get in bed with wealthy western customers and sell itself like a prostitute only for the reason that its ruling elite i.e Generals and an UNELECTED Zulfiqar bhutto get the legitimacy from the west including the Arabs. Our trajectories were totally different but in a way, equally disastrous. Also, in India, IITs & IIMs were of no use till 1991, since the country was against business thanks to Nehru-Gandhi family congress' socialist centralised policies for their own political gains.

What has India done differently? India has Elected reps working for us, these last 76 years, not the Indian army. Our army knows its place and role which is why we respect them. Its the people's reps who work for us and there job is to work for the betterment of the people just like it should be in a Democracy and not to make some other institution happy. Its the public reps that we elect whether they are Excellent, Very Good, Good, Bad, Ugly, Pathetic etc, they on behalf of people decide. Every other institution knows its respective roles. If public reps ain't doing the job that we expect them to do, we vote them out. pakistan is incomparable to India, since it's not, it has never been, and it'll never be a Democracy. Also, the so called pakistani 'intellectual' here don't want to acknowledge this mother of all facts. No getting better, No game changers for al baqistan.

India has progressed at a fast pace over the past ten years under the Modi administration. I hope that more Pakistanis visit India to witness firsthand the massive construction that is ongoing in all parts of the country. 1. The number of highways has doubled. By the end of the decade, over 20,000 km of 4 to 8-lane access-controlled expressways will crisscross the country with modern rest areas at every 50 km. 2. The number of airports has doubled, with second airports being built in Mumbai and Delhi. The second Delhi airport managed by Zurich Airports can be extended to six runways with 90 million annual passengers capacity. By 2024 and fifteen cities are envisaged to have two airports, and Mumbai possible a third one. 3. Five hundred railway stations are being redeveloped , these ultra-modern railway stations with modern airport-like facilities. In the big cities these ultra-modern railway station will match those in China. 4. Double-tracking freight rail corridors with the first 2800 km tracks being ready by the end of the year. It will double the speed of freight trains. Soon to be extended to rest of country where all major industrial areas will be double track connected to ports. 5. Metro rail systems are being built in nearly 40 cities, with India having the second-largest urban metro system in the world by the end of the decade. The Delhi metro system itself will be over 500 km by the end of the decade. Fourteen metro lines are under construction in Mumbai. Both Mumbai and Hyderabad are planning to have over 400 km of metro. 6. The first high-speed rail ( 320 km/hr) from Ahmedabad to Mumbai will be completed in 2028. Planning work has started on a similar HSR to link all major cities over the next two decades.

Modiji has made all politics about development development development We actually talk about economy over tea. We hear even poor talk of economy, education, business, career planing. Its amazing. We have to lift the poorest of poor and give them best education resources. Modiji has to do micro planning now. Just international relations dont help. India's economic and social indicators are improving rapidly!!! Just pointing to some data showcasing that India is behind is foolishness. India is growing at an average of 7-8% every year. All the social and economic index is bound to rapidly change in India. China was behind in most of the social indicators until year 2000-2003. You have to only see what policy changes and liberalization India has done that is helping its economy to grow so rapidly. Rest will follow as the society moves forward and gets comfortable economically!!!

The host of this show is wise enough never to have read the book. Give the man credit for having enough time to waste writing a book about Pakistan army’s wasteland. Pakistan is not the first country to be born with empty hands. America began in the wilderness. They planted tobacco and found markets and soon earned profit. They send suicide bombers to blow up the Spanish ships. Not blowing up simply for religious. It was to remove a hurdle from carrying out trade. “Trade” is the golden word. “Trade is a wealth of nations”: Daniel Defoe. Elizabethan England knew better. Early Americans benefited from their cousins. Pakistan had the misfortune of soldiers of Islam having been born with a lust for “Imported Goods.” F-16s. Nuclear Weapons. Swiss Chocolates. American Dollars.” Keep writing lies.

India’s overall gdp and its state-wise gdp are not properly calculated. Statistical analysis in India is not done properly. This guy has no idea about india. India has a huge services sector like in healthcare, tourism, hospitality, logistics, financial services, education services etc which are much larger than the IT services. These employ many millions more people than IT services. Also, IT employment gives rise to a lot of retail activities, real estate and consumption power. The 5-10 million it people spend their money in India on various things. That drives 4-5X multiple of economy. A lot of bad reasons and poor understanding of indian economics landscape means Dr. Ishrat Hussain is simply not qualified to assess Indian economy.

I think pakistan will do better if they get rid of India from their minds.yes we are watching this because pakistan was equal or better than us till 1990 ,but started going down after wards.otherwise we are least interested in pakistan.we are 1.4 billion people with plenty of human resources which is the best of all resources.we are least bothered what pakistan think about us.

Pakistan shd definately follow bangladesh model . If u really want to know reality of Indian economy, just listen to Ashoka mody and Raghu rajan

Not all sizes fit one . India has 30 Pakistan sized states . Not all states behave the same way. The macro picture doesn’t give you the real picture . The southern states actually work overtime . You should definitely model after Bangladesh but it’s a one trick pony . It will not help you in the long term. You are a more diverse country with different ethnicities than Bangladesh .
