Devil Fruits are mysterious, distinctive fruits scattered throughout the world, known for granting their eaters permanent superhuman powers and an equally permanent inability to swim. As a whole, Devil Fruits encompass hundreds of different powers, from the (apparently) mundane to the inherently mass-destructive. These are broadly grouped along three classes: Paramecia, which offer a vast array of strange abilities, Logia, which grant the users the power to become and control natural elements, and Zoan, which allow the users to transform into animals or animal hybrids. Devil Fruits have empowered many of the world's most significant individuals, especially among the Three Great Powers. This, along with their general rarity, causes them to be highly sought-after; single specimens may be valued at hundreds of millions in Belly, and extensive efforts have been made to mass-produce artificial versions for warfare. With only one notable exception, an individual can only acquire the powers of a single Devil Fruit and survive. According to Oda, a "certain professor" will explain the complex mechanisms behind all of the Devil Fruits in the series at some point in the future.

It is fascinating how we still don't know the ORIGINS of devil fruits yea we know their abilities or powers and weaknesses but we're still far from understanding them fully.. Without the knowledge of the past you can't move on to the future

Well Oda has barely given us any information. Let's just hope he finally gives us an explanation of how the fruits came to be and the rest of the lore, otherwise if he doesn't I'll forever give up on One-piece.

I must be blunt. I don't give a fuck about Devilfruit's origin. I'm good with just hearing they're incarnations of the seadevil. Nothing confirmed but a fair enough explaination for a magical fruit that never spoils and grants amazing powers when you take a bite from it. But then came the nika-nika and devilfruits as well as OnePiece died to me. I feel like Luffy when Usopp asked about the OnePiece.

His powers were focused only on his body, Luffy never needed intent to use his powers like most devil fruit users as well. His power is not that he's made of rubber it's that his body is malleable, but it doesn't end there Luffy's real power is cartoon physics not necessarily warping reality but warping his body in a way you would think those old slapstick cartoons.

i think also that the way to eat more than two devil fruits is to first awake the fruit powers and then try and it another... some believe that whenever you 'awake', the devil fruit's soul and yours become one and the same, for the human body can only seem to hold two souls at the same time...

why aren't devil fruits weaponized? I don't mean eating one I mean using it to kill another devil fruit user. Example: Big Mom is going on a hunger rampage so I hide a devil fruit in the meal she wants and she dies. I feel like this would force Yonkos to check meals and be careful of what they eat.

Zoan aren't just animals they are basically all things that tranform your body to anything thats not an element like luffy

For the context of zoans humans are considered animals, as well as supernatural creatures in the case of mythical zoans for example the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Onyudo turns you into a yokai, the conditions for zoans is always you become some kind of creature. In Luffy's case his is a god who had the attributes of rubber, hence why it's a mythical zoan. If it really only made his body rubber and nothing else it would still be a paramecia its the connection to this god figure that makes its a mythical zoan. Your explanation would make Katakuri a zoan which he is not.

You were spot on with your explanation of devil fruits, I commend the reasearch that was put into the video. I only have one real nitpick regarding some information about mythical zoan fruits. Luffy's fruit isn't the only awakened mythical zoan fruit. Kaido's fruit is also an awakened mythical zoan. Kaido received his fruit from his former crewmate Big Mom and at the time it was classified as a "Fish Fish Fruit." Kaido's fruit powers became the "Mythical Zoan Fruit Model Azure Dragon" after Kaido achieved his fruit awakening. Most other mythical zoans we've seen in the series don't normally require an awakening to obtain their full power set but the dragon and Nika fruits are unique cases regarding that fruit category.
