Because unlike the Yamato (a weapon that separates Man from Devil), to combine them, you need more than just the individual to combine into something new. To combine Man with Devil, you need a Devil or a powerful Devil Arm (the Force Edge/Sparda absolutely qualifies). Even if that's not why, Dante actively used it with its purpose, not just being randomly stabbed. He used the Rebellion with its purpose of combining man with demon which certainly plays a factor

@@rushalias8511 I think this is semi-true. Rebellion by itself activated Devil Trigger and Dante’s blood without prompting-Fusing Man and Devil. However, we see that the difference between Yamato and Rebellion is one seems to need an incantation to fulfill its purpose, whereas one does not. Hence why Yamato never splits anyone, but conversely, still explains why Rebellion fused Man and Devil without that purpose, and granted Dante Sun Devil Trigger by also requiring the Sparda’s power to do so.

Maybe Nero is the smarter one. He's a engineer or something. I'm wondering if he made that sword - he might using engineer mathematics, and others then yes. Nero is smart but not actually smart, safe to say he's intelligent. Dante only knows demon forms, like a person who studies dinosaur bones. Nico is a craftswomen, but both Nero and Nico know mechanical engineer. Nico might be a blacksmith --- or something. They never tell us what knowledge of field they study.
