I love how bayonetta 2 ending leads straight to Bayonetta 1 begining. Balder ( with lopters soul ) traveled in time from Bayo 2 ending to Bayonetta 1. Thats why he was evil .... I just love how it creates an endless circle between bayo 1 and 2

There may still be some loose ends like Loki's appearance that can maybe be used in Bayonetta 3 so that it leads into Bayonetta 2 creating this chain of prequel-sequels or something. I guess we'll see since Bayonetta 3 has just released.

The reason it shows balder at the end is to show why he was consumed by evil in Bayonetta 1. Remember that he’s stuck in a time loop with Aesir inside him.
@SeishinNoIro2 жыл бұрын
I'm a little late to the party, but I just wanted to explain something a little. "Loki" is of course the Norse trickster god, and is the name of our little one in this game. "Loptr," as you've surely discovered by now, was the name of Aesir, who is in fact Loki's "other half." In Norse mythology, there is an anthology of narrative poems that describe Norse mythology, called the Poetic Edda. Within these poems, Loki is referred to several times alternatively as "Loptr." So that is the angle here. In Bayo 2, Loki and Loptr were once the same god, Aesir; in Norse mythology, Loki and Loptr are in fact the same Norse entity.

I love these kinds of ties to Mythology in video games. It just adds another layer of depth to them! It's like additional lore outside of the base lore of the game itself.

I don't understand why Balder didn't recognize his own daughter from the beginning. Beyonetta/Cereza looks almost exactly like her mother Rosa. Rosa immediately recognized her daughter from the future. Or maybe it's because Balder has never met Cereza before probably. I think he found out when they go back to their time and Bayonetta called Rosa mummy softly, he probably heard that. Really sad, the moment he found out he's probably shocked but with the world almost ending, he didn't get to have a happy reunion. And it's sweet the badass witch calls her parents mummy and daddy like a little girl.
@Latency345 Жыл бұрын
Because Rosa was an amazing parent. And Balder, though her time with him was ahort, still managed to bond with him and see that he could have been a great father to her had she grown up with both of them.
@timemonkey Жыл бұрын
I think he realized the truth of Bayonetta's identity right before they jump off the plane. Jeanne calls her Cereza over their comm and Balder is right next to her. He's finally calmed down enough to actually notice that the witch he's been fighting looks so much like his wife it has to be his daughter. His behavior also changes from hyper aggressive to prioritizing protecting Bayo.

I find it funny how Aesir was so strong, he had to be nerfed by his other half. I mean, Loptr never lost to Bayo, even as a child. And when he took back the eyes, he was basically toying with them and one-shotting the summons. But now that I think about it, did Loptr also have amnesia? The power to erase anything and everything, even the Eyes that control creation, sounds overpowered as hell, yet he somehow completely forgot about that ability? Oh yeah, I also found it odd how Balder thought it was crazy to jump from a high place, even though they can both fly.

The final fight ended with Baldr trapping Aesir in his body and becoming the main villain of Bayo 1 and Bayo 2 starts with seeing him die after the events of Bayo 1. Well since this is the end I hope Deebee goes back for the weapons he missed because he missed my favorite one in the series. And maybe redo some missions in amiibo costumes for some of the fun easter eggs.

Heh, far from the only 101 reference in this game (Valiance's sword being the Valiantium Blade, Bayonetta asking Balder if "diplomacy has failed" before he fights her in Inferno, maybe others). - Dammit, Balder's "[...]call me...Daddy" still makes me tear up. It's the last time he'll get to hear his daughter call him that...! - The card dropped from that stroller? Seems to bear the imagery of The Fool - fitting for Loki's new beginning, as well as the new year. - ...Say, have you found the guest star weapon by now? And I don't mean what's on the Star Fox costume.

Balder absorbing Loptr and transporting to another time ties all of the events together. This happens, then all of the events in Bayo 1 (where Balder is evil thanks to Loptr infesting within him), then Balder dies which you see at the beginning of Bayo 2. Not sure how all of that will tie into Bayo 3 or if those events are completely separate.

Bayo 2 begins with Balder dying and thanking Cereza for fullfiling her promise. The promise is the one she makes at the end of the game of being the one to stop Balder if he ever becomes evil. TL;DR : Bayo 2's opening is the ending of 1, and the ending of 2 explains the beginning of 1

Why do I like bayonetta: The story is definitely coherent and starts really well. It meanders into boring nothingness as the game goes on, but incoherent wouldn't be the correct descriptor. As someone that doesn't play many hack 'n slash games, I really liked Bayonetta's difficulty. It seemed to strike a sweet spot where beginners can have fun but also realise how much potential there is. I definitely didn't hit the peaks of what the combat allowed for and even still I found what I did hit really engrossing. The level designs for the most part were okay, although I don't really know what constitutes as "good level design" for a hack 'n slash since the ones I've played seem to just pit you in straightforward arenas to emphasise the combat. The enemy designs on the other hand I really liked. Granted I am a big fan of the whole Heaven vs Hell trope, I still think Bayonetta did it in a way that wasn't utterly generic or obvious. Almost all of them I enjoyed fighting against and I believe the game did a good job at varying up which ones you fight throughout the game. This doesn't extend to the boss fights for the most part however, since they're riddled with pacing issues and the high level of interplay found in the rest of the game is completely devoid in these sections. I'm in the camp of people that think the game is great but I'm fully willing to admit that could be due to my lack of experience with the genre😅.

That intro reminded me that you should play Fatal Frame (Project Zero in Europe).
